i was riding today and my oil light came on as i was slowing down. when i cam to a stop the bike shut down. i pulled to the side and it wouldnt restart. so i let it cool down for 20 min and it started right back up ran another 25ish miles and did the same thing again. i think it over heated. i realy just need a bunch of idea of that to check so i can start trouble shooting this one.. oh its an 04 xb12r with and 06 engine. |

Are there any trouble codes? There's a simple procedure that can be found by searching BadWeB that reveals any historic codes or current codes. Doesn't require any expensive tools or equipment. That would be my best guess, finding out what the bike is saying to look at. |

Don't mean to be a smartass but did you check your oil level right after it happened? |

Your bike did not overheat, if it overheats the check engine light starts flashing and the ECM will cut the rear cylinder on every other revolution, it is called skip spark |
