Anybody tried Erik Buell's front brake rotor mounting kit on their Uly (or any other XB for that matter)? The copper washer that goes behind the rotor seems to interfere with the spring the rotor floats against. I just sent them an email but I thought I'd ask here as well. |

Did you get the instructions? They show the assembly order, and yes they work great, they ran the Daytona 200 |

Yeah, it shows the copper washer directly behind the rotor. Should the washer go between the spring and the rotor? Seems kind of odd that it would. |

The spring you are referring to is not the stock springs that went in the holes is it? they are not used. The copper washer is between the rim and rotor, then a steel washer and the spring washer. |

Yep, that's the one. Just got a response from EBR Tech telling me to chuck them too...Fast response! Thanks for your help. |

Back again. I sent this to EBR but while I'm waiting for a reply.... The steel (cupped) washer I assume goes on with the cup facing out? Meaning the outside diameter of the cupped washer hits the flat washer that is against the bolt head? When I snug up the bolts the rotor seems pinched tight and does not "float" at all. I only have them snug right now in case somethings wrong...Thanks. Thanks, Rob |

Were there any instructions with the kit? |

No just a parts diagram showing the order in which they go on. Pictures of components are barely legible. |

The new hardware does not let the rotor "float", hence the spring washer. It is to improve heat transfer to the rim. Assemble in the order the diagram. Torque to spec and you should be good to go. |

Thanks. Can't tell from the diagram which way the spring washer goes. I assume it goes on with the cup facing out? Meaning the outside diameter of the cupped washer hits the flat washer that is against the bolt head? |

And you never heard a response to your e-mail or heard from anyone? I was under the impression there was a diagram and instructions. I'll order a kit and see what I get. Should be easy to sort out. |

EBR's been responding quickly but I posted here as well just in case someone else knew the answers to my questions. I use my Uly as my daily commuter (80 miles a day)and try to minimize downtime! In the parts "blow up" they sent (which is the only documentation that came with the kit)the washers don't even look the same as what's in the bag (the cupped spring washer looks more like a star washer). There were no instructions (ie. "remove OEM springs", or "cupped washer faces in", etc.) Being that it's my front wheel and brake I'm messing with I don't want to assume anything! |

EBR just responded and said it does not matter which way the spring washers faces. |

>>>EBR's been responding quickly Excellent. That's all I wanted to sort out. I got the incorrect impression that they either hadn't responded or hadn't provided a prompt response. . . . install it and enjoy. |
