curious if anyone has removed the reflectors on XB forks and how. are they just glued in place or are they fastened some other way?

Double sided tape. Run some dental floss underneath the reflector to dislodge it from the fork. Some WD-40 should clean up the residue.

Application of gentle heat will cause adhesive flow which makes removal and install of foam taped items easier. A hair dryer works like a charm in doing this as well as removal and install of foam taped wheel weights.

Bet you wish you left them on after the car runs you over!

Just twist and pull. They come off easy. I tend to think the fork finish is better off w/o them there. To address Bombadier's safety concerns, you could always get scotchlite-type reflective tape (it even comes in black) to put elsewhere than on your forks - maybe on mudguard, for example. I'll bet a guy could get pretty creative with that stuff, and find a cool way to integrate it into the bike's lines.
