I pulled the cover off of my XB12STT to have the chain case cover powder coated and when I pulled the inspection cover off the chain was tight...really tight, I could barely move it.
The dealer did the service on it when I bought the bike new since I had the 9 primary sprocket put on for more down low torque.
I know from dirt bikes I have had that a chain is better off slack than excessively tight. I have put about 3200 miles on it since I had this mod done.
I didn't find any metal shavings other than normal minor stuff around the magnet. My concern now is the bearings, bearing race and cases.
Any comments or suggestions??? Thanks.
