I have been commuting on my Cyclone. I have been eyeballing the Laminar lip. Is it worth getting? Also, it looks like it goes on with velcro. Does the mounting system work well? I am not sure I want to drill holes in my shield.

Mounting system works very well. I had on my Uly but Fiance' removed it for her Scg and it has stuck very well. I also had one on my goldwing for several years with no problem. I liked it on my Wing and Uly but it is better on the Scg and I put the brakcets on my Uly.

I lost mine at around 100 mph with the velcro but what I was looking for was a shield that kept my face shield clean and did not work,

I can not stand cleaning my shield every 100 miles so did not work for what I bought it for.

Had one on my FXDXT and my Road Glide, completely changed the character of those bikes. Fitted one to my Uly, took it off after two miles, the buffetting was unbearable. Now running Palmer brackets.

I have had the Laminar Lip on my '08 Ss for about a year now with no problems, and it is holding up well.

It is not a full blown shield, but helps cut the wind. I have a 40 mile commute to work that is mostly freeway and it certainly helps make the ride more comfortable.

I like it because to me it is an excellent compromise between looks, performance, and cost. I intend to keep it on, and if it should fail, I would buy another one.

I put an S3 fairing on my M2 and got the 4 inch higher bubble visor from a supplier in Florida who makes them to order. Also I modified the fairing mount by cutting and welding it so it sits 2-3 inches higher. The new look is barely noticeable and does a terrific job keeping the wind from making me a bobble-head at 80 MPH. Kind of a bit of work though, but worth it.

I wound up sending mine back. They have never tried one on an actual bike, and just mounted their test unit to the front shield. On the bike it hits the front brake reservoir. I tried moving things around, but no luck. They took it back with no complaint.

So why can one user (Eicas) have no prob's, and another (Gunslinger) can't even get the thing to mount without fouling things? Let's try to clear this up so other readers (including me!) can understand what's going on. Other input, people?
