First of all, this place is great! Thanks for all the info. I've gone through the search and read all the post I could find related to late model XB9S lowering and XB12Scg swaps. I already ordered the XB12Scg rear shock.

My question is...

Why cant I just lower the forks in the triple clamps to the correct height instead of swapping them with Scg forks?

Cant I just measure the length of the Scg fork then adjust the mount height to that measurement?
That would correct the rake/trail to match the Scg.

Thanks for the help!

1. Will the fork tubes hit the handlebars in the triples?

2. Will you need to take the retaining rings off the fork tubes to achieve the correct height?

3. Could you not just use the springs out of the other to lower the front of the bike?
