Hi folks. Good news, I got to go to the Lee Parks Total Control School. They did it here on base and I was one of the lucky. The bad news is I laid my 200 Cyclone down on the last exercise. No damage to me that won't heal (except my horribly scarred ego). No damage to the bike I can't fix. I am going to need to replace the shifter pedal and linkage. I was thinking of doing that anyway. The Banke set-up from American Sport Bike is a bit pricey ($268), but so is the stock ($148) which is a piece of crap. New handlebars are going to be about $70 and the Renthals are about the same so may as well upgrade. There are a few other minor parts like the turn signals, but the big one is the tank. It is good and scratched up. My bike has been re-painted already, so buying a color matched tank is not an option. A new primed tank is $435. I may be able to clean up the old tank and re-use it. I can Kreem it to make sure any leaks are taken care of, but I am not sure it would be a good idea. We are talking about fiberglass here.

Ideas anyone? There is a complete set of plastic on e-bay.

don't spend too much time, energy or money to fix it.

there are plenty of good used parts available here.

that way the next time you drop it while having fun, it won't be such a big deal.

its just a machine, enjoy it !

And it's not fiberglass - it's molded plastic of some sort. Use the approved procedure for painting it or it will bubble and you will be doing it again....and again.....and again.....

I am thinking I will use KBS on the inside of the tank. That should keep it from bleeding. I will see what the insurance company gives me and then use it as an opportunity to do some of the upgrades I was planning on.

OK, I got off easy. My total repair cost...

Shifter, $268 (an upgrade to the Banke unit, and well worth the money.

Handlebars, $66.95 (Renthals).

Tank, $175 (off of e-bay, shipping included, and black paint close enough to the rest of the bike to not be noticed).

Traction Handgrips, $16.95.

All in all the bike is better now than before the crash.
