removed it and now there is this hard adhesive left behind. Im looking for proven suggestions on how to remove with out damaging the translucent plastic-

When I stripped my cover for paint, I just used some 3M adhesive remover which is found at most real auto parts stores (NAPA, CarQuest, etc) or at body shop supply places.

You wouldn't happen to still have the 'X' would ya?

WD40 and a little heat from a heat gun or hair dryer. A little heat!

I tried it on unrelated testing, and WD40 seemed harmless.
