I have a 208 qual on the front and a strada on the back. Both will need replacing in the next few weeks. My question comes up because I have a set of Z6 from my Tuber laying around which is a 170 rear. I wouldn't think I would have any problems other than it may give the tire a flatter profile. I thought I'd ask a few opinions on it before I do it.

Put em on today. Gives my 9r that old school racer look: ) Haven't really ridden them hard, but doesn't seem to have any odd turn in behavior. The side wall is closer to straight from the rim in comparison to a 180 but I'm good with it. I'll let you know what I think after a few weeks but I don't foresee anything changing.

Did a track day on em yesterday, very confidence inspiring from the Z6's(sport touring tire) did bring up another question though. I think the 60 series front 55 back did run me out of lean quicker. I was at the edge(and sometimes over!) of my tire and still wasn't scrapping pegs. I still needed to get off the bike better, but I'm thinking this tire combo doesn't allow for as much lean as a 120/70 and 180/60 combo. On the street though it has been nothing but great. Of course a track bike probably wouldn't be shod with a sporttouring tire anywho...

I *finally* scraped a peg, and that was when my Scorpion Sync 180 series rear *finally* lost that last 2 or 3mm's. So at least on the 9sx, the pegs touch at the moment you are out of tire.

The front still had a little margin though, but not much, and I have found that I can get rid of that with low speed stunts (little 10 foot circles in a parking lot with the bars really turned far inside and the bike leaned way underneath me while I sit upright).
