Alright I have a 2003 9r. The bike has run flawless for the past years. This year It doesnt want to start. I thought it could of been that the battery was old and it just didnt have enough juice to turn it over. The bike would make a ton of rapid clicks. And then never turn over. I picked up a new battery, which I don't think I needed to do, because it still didn't want to start. I disabled (not removed) the TFI on the bike and it started right up. It would occasionally start to lose power and then spike, almost wheelie-ing. I took it around the block and then later went out for about an hour on it and it still did the same thing. Does the TFI
have an inline fuse? I can't figure it out. I dont even know if its the TFI. But it started right up after i diconnected it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Maybe an easier question that some can help answer. The wire that runs from the TFI to the battery. Does it connect to the positive or negative?

and if anyone with a TFI could refresh me on what each knob does? Thanks

The bike was telling you that it needed a new battery when it started the clicking routine. Good move there.

TFI wiring -- what do the instructions say about the wire to the battery?

If you don't have the instructions, you'll likely find the answers online at the Techlusion website including what the knobs do.
