Hello,

I'm currently riding an XB9SL and am interested in a Uly, but with my 27" inseam it's a weeee bit tall. I know they've lowered the seat height for '07. In the handout for '07 models I got from my dealer I notice that a lower seat is offered as an option on the '07 Uly. Does anyone have any info about this? What is the seat height on an '07 Uly with the optional lower seat?

Thanks!

I just put an '07 seat on my '06 Uly. I can now touch the ground with the balls of both feet.
The '07 comes standard with the lower seat, so what you really need to do, is throw a leg over one.

I have the same challange, 27" Inseam, and just purchased my 2nd Buell, a 06 Uly. My last one a 04 Lightning. I went with the Low Seat. I as well ordered a 07 seat and like the Low seat better, flat and roomy, the 07 has a very narrow front section but a odd transition from the front section to the mid section, I didn't like it. I am having the 07 seat reworked by a local seat guy with gel and about 1" lower than the Low seat. It's a awesome ride, suspension is great for anything less than dragging pegs and is comfortable. See if you local dealer has a 07 or a Low seat and throw a leg over and see for yourself.

Damn short inseam, I blame my parents and the ~o) coffee. I took a XB9sx and put the Uly front fender set on it. It is a 9oo cc dual sport-esque bike. I am running down the fireroads right behind my friends Uly. I don't have all the ground clearance, but I am out gettin the dirt and owning ALL the corners.

That looks really cool. I had a city-x rode it 12000 miles in a year and loved it. I got my Ulysses in may and will be over 9000 miles after riding to Fla to Thunder Beach Rally this weekend. Try handle bars with about three more inches of rise and about two inches longer it'll put you in about the same seating position as the ulysses. I put the '06 low seat on, had a couple of clearance issues, stock seat back on and back to loving it (30" inseam).

cityxslicker...that looks very nice.

Does anyone know if the Ulysses (Hepco Becker) saddlebags can be fitted to any Buell models other than the Uly?

Hello everybody, thanks for the posts, I'm going to wait until I can sit on an '07 Uly. I'm also considering having someone lower the stock suspension on an '07 Uly and going to the lower seat. Meanwhile, I'm loving my XB9SL with a Drummer plus I get to ride my wife's XB12SS.

Alright, looking at either the handlebar conversion to ULY bars for my CityX or gettting a Uly and putting the shorter suspension set from the TT on it. I figure the headache and cost conversions to be about the same... fish or cut bait. Any body changed a Lightning or CityX to Uly bars ?

My guess would be if you want to install Uly bars on any other XB, all you'd need to to is add Uly control cables (brake line, throttle/idle cables, clutch cable)and maybe stretch the electrical wires for the switchgear (cut/splice some added length). Hard parts should all bolt right on - grips, switch housings, levers, etc.

The Ulysses would be a great bike if it rode about a foot lower. As it is it's madness because no way is it a true all-terrain bike. Oh, for a Ulysses Low!
