I just bought a 2000 Blast in a private sale. The bike ran well, I was able to ride it home 100 miles that day. On the way home, the tail light fell off and the rear wiring harness got chewed. Replaced that, but the bike all of a sudden would run rough, then didn't start anymore. I pulled apart the carb, found no apparent problems, and the bike ran fine for a few days. Then the carb was puking gas when shut off. Now the bike starts, and runs ok at idle, but engine dies when given throttle. I pulled the carb apart again, and it ran fine for ten mins. Then it lost rpms and stalled and wouldn't restart immediately, so i pushed it home. Once cooled down, it started, but still blubbers out when i apply the gas.
Is it maybe a sensor or fuel pump? Or a carb problem? If anyone could help it would be GREAT

Finally broke down and took it to the dealer. My major problem was the Throttle position sensor. Also, they found that my cylinder sleeve was separating from the jug itself, so had to buy a whole new jug. Also, head gasket was blown. But the running problem was due to the TPS, which I suspect shorted with my electrical problems from the taillight falling off

Blast and TPS and tail light are unrelated. Not connected in any way.

Good thing they caught the cylinder liner issue before catastrophe.

The newer cylinders are vastly improved to prevent that sleeve loosening issue. You won't have that problem again, if they used the new configuration of cylinder.

Your head gasket was blown and you didn't know? That typically makes a noise and produces expulsions that are impossible to ignore.
