Detachable Saddlebags, 91310-04Y Distributor- Buell I've had great use out of these for about a year. Perfect for extra cold weather gear, snacks, limited H20 and one "whathaveyou" in the caliber of your choice. Contingent of course on local conditions & laws! Good day-trip stuff, which is about the range of a Firebolt... Only problem is... tape supplied to prevent abrasions from the bags is not up to snuff. Quartz-type road debris can fall in between the bags & tail section, causing all kinds of nasty abrasion. To make things worse, when you remove the tape to upgrade, some of the top layer of your plastic will come off too. I'm going to have to get some sheets of that carbon fiber sheet stuff on for improved abrasion resistance. Riveted on sheet metal would look mighty dumb when they're off! Anyone else had this problem? How about waterproof-ness? I keep those big red super tough biohazard bags from the lab in there just in case... Has anyone else bothered with the reflector re-location brackets? They abrade against the bags, but they are picky in Mass on brackets. Maybe reflective tape will make them happy? |
