Doesn't exactly sound like 'progress' when you put it like that...

Maybe emissions controls are stricter?

dont know, the s1w and x1 in the u.s.a. where said to make 101hp,xb12 i am sure i read somewhere 103hp,maybe there more realistic numbers over here?also am sure there was a mag or maybe mcn who dyno,d a standard/new xb12 in the mid 90,s rwhp, that would make the 2008 brochure,s numbers better, but the 1125r is rated at 146hp/146ps/107kw @ 9800rpm and 82 ftlbs/111nm @8000rpm,if thats at the rear wheel thats one hell af a engine???

The European bikes make less HP than the bikes here. Some thing to do with their Specs. If I am correct I think it has to do with emmision standards over there.

This is true. European bikes make less hp due to Euro 3 emission standard over here. My question in the previous chain was about this subject. The "pipes" from cylinders (XB 12) are almost 1cm narrower than in 2007 model... Not good! Race mapping probably means also switching the whole exhaust system, which means more costs.

ok,but in 2000 there was no euro 3 regs, and the x1 in battle2win vol 3,issue 2,is rated at 101 hp @ 6000rpm/90 ftlbs @ 5500 rpm,a bit different from the uk brochure of the same bike same year???
