I just bought a new 06 Lightning XB12Ss. I got it registered and everything and went to take it for my first ride and it idled really low at about 8500. I have had a cruiser for the last year and a half so I thought maybe this was normal for a sport bike. I let it idle for a few minutes then got on it to ride it. I gave it gas and started to let out the clutch and it stalled. I did this a few times and the same thing happened. I finally gave it a lot more gas and it moved but once I came to a stop and let in the clutch it stalled. Does this sound like I just need to adjust the idle to the 1050-1100 rpm it should be? I don't really want to drive an hour to the dealers to find out what the problem is when I haven't even ridden it yet. Thanks.

Okay, here's what you do. Let it warm up for a bit. Someone once told me 5 minutes, I wait 10. after it's warmed up and loping along at 850 rpm's, then adjust the idle to about 1050-1100 rpm's. It's gonna jump around a bit while you do it, but it will work. Small turns, it's sensitive. That should work.

Slickshoes, I had mine do that last weekend, due to what I believe was a bad tank of gas. Fill it up with premimum and see if that makes a difference.
