We just got these for our XB's (1157 brake lights) http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2003 648/showCustom-0/p-2003648/N-111+10205+250+600009727+4294967228/c-10105/TID-0820 They work VERY well... when you're riding they rotate around, changing directions every couple seconds...slightly dimmer than when braking, but noticeable for sure. When you brake, they flash, with a more intense brightness, several times and really grab the attention of the person behind you.. Just plug the bulb in and go, they are easy to install and I highly recommend them, riding safer, one part at a time!!! | ||

Be careful those are not legal in all states. Some vehicle codes state that the tail light must be "steady burning" or words to that effect. | ||

ooh, thanks..I'll have to check that.. Florida seems fairly lenient on light stuff, except for blues...blue lights = bad..lol... on a side note - We actually have signs before you travel on the beach road that states, SPECIFICALLY.. "Motorcycles" loud exhausts prohibited... I would LOVE to see how they uphold that particular "law"... | ||

I would LOVE to see how they uphold that particular "law"... Same way Alexandria does in VA. They pull you over, take a rod from the cruiser, slide it up your pipe. If it goes a certain distance, they ticket you for faulty equipment/Non-Standard or not street legal exhaust. Or, (officers discretion)if you are 'rattling windows' from 50ft. or so away, they can cite you for disturbing the peace. Unless it's after 9:30pm. Then they don't have to worry about the 'window rattling' part. (and you wonder why I tell people not to gun their bikes going through that area..) Now, if you get pulled over by a VA State Trooper that is different. All State PD are 'vehicle inspectors' and can do a safety inspection any time, any where. If you have anything not up to code, they can impound the vehicle and have it transported for 'department inspection' at the yard. EVERYTHING they find not to code you will be charged with. | ||

Y-U-C-K ...remind me to behave while riding through your town I found a PDF about the noise ordinance down here..says basically that your pipe cannot be louder than OEM specs, for that bike, and that OEM must be able to produce paperwork on those specs... | ||

Also, I read that red flashing lights are ok on a motor vehicle, motorcycle included, as long as they are NOT viewable from the front and flashing is ok (does not say anything about rotating) while at a lawful stop or when pulled over. At least that's for Florida | ||

And now you know why I don't ride in Alexandria very much.. If you ever do get up this way.. Drop me a line, I've got some roads to show you! You'll love 'em.. I'm sure the designer was either a drunken goat or a Buell rider. | ||
