Hello,
I want to re-route my oil lines. Can this be done without removing the gear case? Any tricks or tips? Also, can the fitting for the vent on engine case be pointing down instead of up? Could you point me to the proper hoses to use for this?

Thanks

What is wrong with oil lines the way come from the factory ???

As long as they do rub anything to cause a hole they should be fine ...

FITTING FOR VENT ON ENGINE CASE BE POINTING DOWN INSTEAD OF UP, could you be referring to the head breathers ???

I bought the bike used and someone already changed the lines to chrome braided. I want to re-route them a little differently. They don't look right to me.
The fitting I'm talking about is right next to the return line on the engine case. It's the oil vent line.

On the right case on the rear of where the cams are, that fitting elbow should be up ...

That is it. Was wondering if I could point it down to route along the side of the bike. Also, when replacing the lines, is there enough room to get at them without taking the gear case off (don't want to mess with gaskets etc? I still haven't found the end of my return line. The feed line looks easier to reach.
