what is all this talk about thrashing my bike??? Thats not thrashing it... You guys are breaking it in kinda easy aren't you...7500 all day long...drag racing...Isn't that my job...If I had it back I would have already put in the 643's, been running it 8000 all day long, and road racing it at max rpm for 20 laps...you guys and your sissy breakin:-)

You better have that thing ready to come home next wed...even if you do break my 10k mile stock clutch with the buffer plate in it at the drag strip...you better have one waiting to put in it! Give me a buzz...I need more info on when we are going to the salt...and when we are coming back...see ya

P.S. what is up... where is everybody at...I post a 130+ hp number and nobody is even here to chat about it...maybe 130 is just an ok number these days:-)

On a street bike it's impressive for sure! Good Job...some of us do see higher numbers, though rarely... on bigger engines & all. For the 88" you did VERY well!! Have fun with it!

Torqd,
We are too skeered of your dyno chart. It really is frightening. I really cannot imagine riding such a beast on the street near sea level.

Torqd,
I don't beleive your bike makes nearly that much power. I think you need to prove it by dropping it at my house for a weekend. Hell, I'll even come up and get it ;)

Blake, I would absolutely force you ride it. I am sure that would be difficult. I would love to meet you at the track but I am leaving for Mississippi (with Scott, who is 1 point out of 2nd, by the way) for a dirt track race, tonight. Althought drag racing Frank's bike is all part of the breakin process.

Franky, You think 20 laps of 8,000 rpms is thrashing it? I let Richard Nallin ride it last night!

OH LORDY...is it still in one piece? Oh I have been meaning to ask you if you guys are ridding my bike on public roads or private...Because you know that riding an uninsured bike with expired tags over 100mph would carry a STIFF fine:-)

I guess that I need to get the insurance reinstated asap!

A uninsured ...unregistered bike well over 100 mph. I had a fun time on your bike Frank. Maybe some day you will get to ride it....but until that time, Al and me will rub it in. LOL

Scott,
Hey man, good to see you online. How did the weekend of racing go? You're now in the lead right? :D

Seriously, where can we go to follow your progress in your bid for the championship? If you have time, fill us all in on your racing exploits. We are all rooting for you. Go #78!!

M2

Well, as a diversion from the depressing events of the day, I decided to do a little demonstration on the dyno today. Several people in attendance witnessed this pull first hand.

1999 M2 owned by yours truly
Thunderstorm heads prepped by Wes Brown at Cycle-Rama
stock cyls, bored .010 over
Ross custom pistons as specified by Wes
Andrews N83 cams
Mikuni HSR45

We saw it. This is a very impressive M2!

Aaron,

Good diversion from a very depressing event. My thoughts are with you and everyone else that has worked so hard for this event. Anywho, an extremely impressive Dyno run on the M2, that's for sure!

Just since I'm the curious type, how did you select the cam (trial and error/software or advice)? Did you try others as well, with similar lift and duration, like Red Shift?

What'z specifically different with the Ross pistons.

Cheers,
-JW:>;)

Hey Jim ... I left cam selection up to Wes, h sets up the heads specifically for the cams being used (as all good headporters do). On the pistons, well, I could tell you but I'd have to kill you

Blake,

The weekend went well. Battled with a kid name Nicky Haden and Chris Carr in the first heat. Al was excited, was said "Dude you were putting tire marks all over those guys". We were going to take a picture of Nicky haden on Franks 131 hp S1W, but we did not a camera. Sorry Frank!

This weekend it is off to Colombus Ohio, the next to the last national race of the year. Right now we are 1 point out of third in the 883 series.

I am taking the Buell you rode at Nallins also to rub bars with the big guys.

Scott,
Way to go! Hope you can pull out 3rd place or better. Whatever place you end up, it's been a successful season. Read about the youngn' getting a tryout in Roadracing World. You aren't ready to hang up your shoe and go manager yet are you? :D Gotta get y'all out to Oak Hill one of these days

Ya the kid is in California right now, on his way to Tacoma Washington. He is riding for the Synergy Honda Team.

P.S. - He will be testing quite often this fall at Oak Hill, I will keep you posted so ya'll can ride together.

Torqd. Aaron posted my dyno run and nobody really said any thing either. I have Nallin 88" that you know about. It pulled 125 and there wasn't really any talk about it. I talked to Allen and he told me all about it. I think it is awsume. They are tweeking on mine. My rings did not seat. So I am right behind you. Be safe and stop drooling. Somebody get him a napkin!

Aaron, what is the n83 cam profile? The day I was there you pulled 110 or something like that.Did you change your cams?

Bill: the Andrews N83 is a .630 lift grind made for big motors. Yeah, several things got changed since it was at 110hp, including the bump sticks. You've got a great motor in that bike.

Aaron,
When you get a chance could you post a jpeg of the first and last dyno runs you did with my S2? It would be good KV info on the limitations of the stock module, IMHO.
Thanks,
David

Hi Aaron,

All this tuning on your Dyno made me wonder what my Adventure would show. I made some runs on a Dyno today.

83.4 RWHP and 103.8 Torque
What do you think Aaron? I have a Sebring slip-on muffler, for the rest it's a bone stock BMW R1150GS.

Now we know why no one could keep up in the mountains with those GS's .

83.4 N/M* .7375 = 61.51 lb/ft

No wonder the GS's couldn't keep up with the Harley! eh, Grizzly?
