I got the HSR 42-11 kit. My bike is stock except: D&D show n go chrome pipe, race ignition, and s&s air cleaner with K&N air filter. 25 and 160 jets. In first or second gear, if I accelerate then close the throttle (deeceleration) I get a nice popping noise out the exhaust. I checked for header muffler leaks and there are none. Sounds like a lean condition per prior posts and my tuning manual. Should I go one richer on the slow jet or turn the idle mixture screw out a half turn (it's currently at two turns out)? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

First try adjusting the air screw. turn it "in" until the RPM drops off...count the # of turns...then turn it "out" until the RPM drops off...also count the # of turns. Divide in half and set the screw there. If RPM doesn't drop at all, you're probably too lean. If so, I'd suggest starting with a 27.5 or 30.0 on the pilot jet. 25 is on the lean side for your bike.
