I am the proud owner of my second buell, a 2005 xb1200scg, thanks to my wife for her blessings, now to Albuquerque to pick it up, then get my S3 to Phoenix to the buell tech Bart recommended. Gonna be a busy week or two.....

too bad you couldn't have picked up Buellnick's SCG. I want to buy another too... but sadly not in the budget right now. Lets see some pics!

There is of course some flexibility in the price and it is an 08 with some extras. No matter for now. Tis NOT the season for selling bikes. It should sell by Spring... The Blue Book price range is from $3800-5400.

Based on info from M-A, there was lots of interest but all were looking to go at or below the KBB low end (trade-in).

No hurry to give it away but willing to let it go for a fair price.

The Scg is back at MA... apparently four callers were looking for it after I brought it home.

So... I'm going to be moving to Seattle in a month and change. : ) Some little known company called "Google" or something like that decided they want me.

I've really enjoyed riding with all of you over the past 2 years! I suppose I'll let someone else win the high average mileage award next year... unless I ride back down to claim it again. : D

Nick, that'd be me that bought it. It's my first Buell, LOVIN' the torque. It really is a monster, so easy to flick it.

BTW, did you have that sumping issue before you did the breather by-pass?

Hope to see some of you guys out there once the weather warms up.

Chris! Welcome aboard! Nice to see the bike go to someone who's going to use it.

I notice on your profile that you don't yet know about the servicing dealer. Nearly all of us use Santa Fe HD. I know Nick has taken that bike there since new, so they're familiar with it. In my opinion, Scott is one of the best Buell techs around, so I feel confident taking both of my Buells to him.

I went out on the Firebolt Saturday. Rode up to Bandelier National Park. My buddies were camping and I decided to visit. It was relatively cold outside and there was quite a bit of stuff on the roads. It had snowed there the day before, so it was kinda messy. Nice ride, though.

I checked off another national park on my 2012 quest. Only 47 to go. My goal is to get 50 parks in 25 different states. So far, I have three parks in three states. I'd like to make a run down to Big Bend National Park in Texas and I'd really like to do it before the end of February. I'm thinking a run down with a stop at Carlsbad Caverns, and then camp overnight at Big Bend, and then come back. We'll have to see if I can swing it. Of course, that would be on the Uly.

We should line up a ride soon and get everyone out.

See yas!

Sparky - Awesome!

Depending on how you ride/where you ride, you might want to consider a set of Dunlop Q2s when you wear out the current set. I've ridden them on a few different bikes around Albuquerque, and for a hard canyons/light track tire, they're amazing. We don't get enough rain to really justify rain tires IMO. And the Q2s are fine in the wet as well - I commuted on them in some nice storms.

Santa Fe rocks. Some people here don't care for it, but I find them a million times better than Thunderbird. Thunderbird doesn't want to deal with you if they can't just bolt on chrome, charge you $400, and kick you out. Santa Fe rocks, and Scott really does live & breathe Buells of all ages.

Welcome aboard Sparky. I too am glad to see that someone is going to keep riding Nick's old SCG.

I bought my second Buell ('03 XB9r) off of him back in '08, and it was a trouble free bike (Just regular maintenance). he takes excellent care of his machines.

Most of us have had several Buells of all years and types, and can help you out if you need it. most of us will be willing to go on a weekend ride of some sort, whether it be short or long (depending on everyone's schedules). Hopefully you can join in.

Ah, yes.

Fair warning.

Buells multiply asexually by feeding on bank accounts.

You start with one, and before you know it, you've got a garage full of them and an awfully small number in your bank account.

Thx for the welcome everyone, you guys are awesome. That's the general consensus about SF HD that I got also, some hate 'em but most are happy with them.

I think either way you look at it, they are better than Thunderbird...Just my opinion though. I havent had any problems with them. My 1125 comes back working like it is brand new when Scott works on it.

For Sparky300...

The bike sumps some of its oil like many 2008 and newer XB bikes. Its the new oiling system.

HD/Buell put out a new and improved oil check procedure in the last year of production... Use this latest oil check procedure for a more accurate and consistent reading... found in the latest owners manual (2010) and right here on BADWEB

The bike runs like a champ and is a lot of fun to ride as you have already noted. I didn't want to sell it but the wife did and it was her bike... needed room in the garage.

The breather keeps only cool air going into the airbox - not hot engine gases and oil spray. This is especially useful in the summer time. No relationship to sumping. However, it does allow you to keep the oil topped off without risk of filling the air box with oil via the engine breathers.

Enjoy the bike...

Darn. : ( We'll be out of town by then.

Enjoy! We were really looking forward to doing a "Mexico to Canada" run on 191, but it looks like it'll have to wait a year or two - that's a /lot/ of miles starting from Seattle.

... we'll just have to make do with US 1 instead. : D
