Nuts,
I know I asked but how is 615 from New Castle to 220? Is it nice hard pavement or that gravelly stuff? Also the stretch of 43 from Eagle Rock to Buchanan, is it cruiser friendly?
As of now we plan on hitting Paint Bank, back tracking to New Castle and taking 615 to 220. From there 43 to Buchanan and then 11 home. See any problems there?
Thanks pal o' mine!

There's only one place that might be bad and that's near Oriskany on 615. Sounds like a nice ride, I'll be picking up my Katoom Friday and Saturday is wifey day. What about a short ride Wednesday morning? NUTS

Jaxson,
Glad to see you gotten a reliable riding buddy. But a Japanese chopper,I'm surprized your roddy hasn't cocked a leg on his bike.
I do enjoy the pic's, glad your getting to enjoy your ride other than just polishing it.
My younger son has moved back from Minn.to the foothils of SC, so maybe I can ride a couple of curves that aren't 90 degrees with traffic lites.
Ride safe.

Nuts,
I've had a sleep schedule change again to adjust for the shortening days and end of Summer. Bedtime is 4am now so I can rise early afternoon. We gotta get at least one ride in before the season is over.

Charlie,
Me and the Roddy V are equal opportunity riders. Yesterday from Roanoke to Tuggles it was the Vrod, chopper and a Suzuki Supermoto.
Good to hear your son has made it back down to ya'. I can't imagine my daughters living far away like that.

Swing and a miss. What say you to a ride Tuesday? Maybe a squirrelin in the afternoon? I'll be gone or busy the following week with John here. NUTS

Charlie, most any ride is a good one. The flat ones make you appreciate the Mtns that much more when you get the chance. Looks like we'll have a high of 78 on Sunday, fine riding weather. NUTS

Never thought this day would come guys. The oldest got her learners and a 2009 Pontiac G5 sitting out front. Either gonna sign off on it tomorrow or get the 2009 Cobalt we looked at as well.

Sage advice on the pics and parts Charlie! Did some searching and the G5 scored extremely well for safety and durabilty. Scored low in the confort category which I can attest to since my kidneys fell out about halfway home.
FFunny thing is she isn't particulary excited even though its the EXACT car and color she wanted. I guess kids nowadays take things for granted. Then again it could be the prospect of a part time job thats got her bummed

Hey guys! Wondering if anyone knows any good Buell mechanics in the area or anyone willing to help me out? I am having the following issue:

Here is a video of what I am experiencing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot88m7o_gWs

I have had problems all summer with the bike. I have taken it in to the Harley dealership 4 times with each time having been told the problem is fixed. They have swapped out wires and reset TPS. The bike rides well for about 30-40 minutes and then at about 3k-4k rpm the bike "coughs" rpms go really low and then the bike dies. It wont turn back on but do what you see in the video. After a couple of hours, I got back and the engine light turns off and the bike turns back on. I would assume its an overheating issue but the fan does turn on and dont know how to check that or really what to do.

As you can tell, I am really really new to motorcycles and bought the bike in order not to have "issues." The bike is a 2008 with 3,400 miles on it. Unfortunately it's out of warranty.

Thanks for any help.

Marco,
Sorry to hear about the bike troubles. From the video it sounds like your fuel pump is in the process of buying the farm.
Unfortunately I don't have much advice to offer as I don't hold our local shop in particularly high esteem.
Had a few warranty issues claimed back at the beginning of April and have yet to hear anything regarding addressing my issues.
In a nutshell...THEY SUCK
The place I bought my Roddy V seemed to really have their act together so you may wanna consider them. Waughs HD.
Good luck my friend.
Side note: Why did you kill the snake in your other video? Did you think it was venomous? For the record...it wasn't

OK, what's going on.......if all of you died, I guess I missed the funeral If not........get off your butt and post something, it's boring as hell down here.
Jaxson, on a lighter side, my grand daughter's boyfriend got stung by a very venomous caterpillar (yea, you read that right)his whole hand swelled up, had streaks up his arm and his limp nodes(arm pit) were swollen. A real unassuming looking caterpillar, beige in color and fuzzy(poisonous spines)Has taken him several days and an urgent care visit to get over it.
He may never get over the ridicule he has received from us. Being attacked by a "Killer Caterpillar"
We have a three foot "gater" in the pond. The damned kids are harrassing him to deathI'd like to string them up and hang them over the pond for Gater bait.
Gater season is in right now and a some what petite women landed a 13 1/2 ft.,1025 lb. gater about a week ago. She had minimal help, her husband and a front end loader. It was in Lake Moultrie, where a lot of tourists go swimming.

Howdy fellas'!
Been away for a spell due to computer woes however it doesn't appear I missed much.
Charlie,
Thats an interesting story about the caterpillar envenomation. I've been there myself trying to wrangle a Saddleback into position for a photo. Sounds like his encounter was with the infamous Puss Moth caterpillar. Its a really nasty one and not to be taken lightly. It never ceases to amaze me how people focus on snakes but have no idea how many venomous creatures are in the average persons backyard. I bet he was quite surpised what the cute little caterpillar did to him. Hell, I was quite surpised and I knew exactly what I was messing with
Speaking of venomous, some of your neighbors have moved in with me. Pretty little buggers with a nasty bite. These guys in particular are a very rare and desireable locale so finding captive born, legal animals took me over two years. It was definitely worth the wait!
The kids like them, my wife tolerates them and if my mom knew about it she would move out (that means its a secret Nuts ).

Glad to hear you got a new pet gator to fill the void since your other one wandered away. Feed him a neighborhood cat every few days and he'll be your friend for life .

Nuts,
Whats up my brother? Where you been and what you been doing?
Hunting season is upon us and I still have no desire to go kill one. Maybe next year.
Still doing the lifeguard thing since Summer is over?
Hows about giving your ole' buddy a call when you get a day off and we can hit the club to flip boards and shoot the bull.
I'll be waiting to hear from ya'!

Have the leaves started turning up there yet? Need some more pic's. You and Nuts are falling down on your job.

The leaves are holding steady Charlie. The nighttime temps are dropping in the 40's now so it should be happening by next week.
Those are Carolina Pigmy Rattlesnakes . The red phase is found in only one county in North Carolina.

I'll work on getting you some pics here in the next week or so. We have a big ride coming up so maybe I can put together an epic photo display that'll leave you crying and curled up in the fetal position sucking your thumb

You got me on that one, at first glance they looked like copperheads, second look not so much. You keep any venom first aid around with all those critters you have. Id be putting duck tape around the bottom of my bed room door before I went to bed or I'd never get to sleep.
What's that saying,"suck one thumb and your a thumb sucker for life", just send the pic's, I can handle it.

No duct tape here Charlie. Been keeping these types of critters for so long I have built up a collection of zoo approved enclosures to house them in. I also lock every cage and have the door to their room locked as well. Windows sealed and all cracks caulked so its tighter than a first time inmates rear end in there . I also have Epipens, bite protocols, my physicians home number, and emergency contacts with Venom 1 in Miami Dade should the unfortunate happen.

I'll be sure and remember you said that when I take pics. You better inform the family before you view them cause I'd hate for them to find you all curled up and drooling. They may get worried and take you to the emergency room for a Catscan .

Where is Nuts? That dude is about as hard to get hold of as a greased eel. I just hope he remembers who it was that helped him bag his first turkey when he's running around with all these new friends of his .

NUTS is alive and well. Just got back last night from the Shenandoah 500 ride. 500km of dirt riding up near Harrisonburg. I'd brushed this ride off for several years because I thought it'd be too easy. Well, like many other things I was dead wrong. After two days of hard trail I managed to not drop the bike, hurt myself or have a mechanical failure on the KTM. I did have it stall on me in a creek only to find out I needed to move the petcock to reserve. Pics shortly.

Honky, I have called twice and left messages with your mother. Either she doesn't want to give them to you or you've gotten senile. Pick up the phone, I only work Thurs, Fri, Sun.

Charlie, don't listen to the turtlecuddler. The leaves HAVE started to go. I was out in New Castle last week and it has certainly begun. The Maples on Brambleton have started their redding and the geese are honking too. NUTS

I present 72 photos of the Shenandoah 500. Taken by guy who came over the first night an introduced himself. Turns out he was a helluva nice guy, good rider and excellent photo documenter!

In all the pics I'm the beanpole wearing orange pants and a white helmet. The fellow named Durwin was in our group as well; he rides an 07 Lightning and lives down Rocky Mount way. Dude built his own log home-the hard way.
