Delta,

Just got back from Wisconsin...for business, not the ride.

Wife's B-Day, today...so, not a chance to get a ride in.

Next weekend (Saturday) I am doing a ride to Writtesville with a few old HS classmates. They seem to want to take the crusier route. I will probably split away after lunch and find some twisties back towards Harford Co. Trying to encourage RatBlastard, Shift...and others for a ride, later that day.

Available?

What exactly is later? It is Halloween after all, and I have stuff in the AM and The kids in the PM.

My HS Reunion ride meets up at 11:00 Saturday, in Forest Hill, MD. We'll ride to Wrightsville(sp) and grab lunch.

I've got similar time constraints in the PM with the kid duties and I would need to be finished and home by 3:30 - 4:00.

We could poll Shift, RatBlastard, Vee, Squire...and others to see what they might be able to do.

My guess is that I could split off from my reunion ride around 1:30...hopefully meet you some where near Columbia, PA. I would not mind taking the west side of the Susquehanna back down towards Delta.

Thoughts...

With Buell prices dropping and Ducati prices not ,anybody interested in a trade!!!!

I have a 2006 Ducati Sport 1000 with 11,500 miles.

All service up to date , all fiulds just changed oil and filter, fork oil, brake and clutch hydro's.

Bike has Termi exhaust with race ecm ,open air box cover and BMC filter.

Speedymoto open clutch cover and frame sliders.

My bike will need tires soon, so if your Uly tires worn thats ok .

Ducati is equal in nada value to a 07/08 Uly depending on miles and options. Maybe a 06 if all service mods are done and super low miles.

Located in Maryland. Garage kept. Bike has stock Ducati barend mirrors, not ones pictured. Also forsale $6400.00

e-mail with interest, rayk36@comcast.net

I know Supafast went out yesterday then went back to the garage wet leaves and damp air. This morning it doesn't look like it will dry out here.

Well, I hate to sound like an advertiser here...but check our sponsor page. We have some bikes still here, and some (tentatively) coming in from ET if people are still looking.

Also...we have a *couple* of new clothing items. Basic black short sleeve garage shirt; black and gray 'pit shirt', short sleeve; thermal sherpa hoodies; a retro dress buttonup short sleeve; *one* small/med size flexfit baseball cap (black with new logo). Limited sizes, this is IT, they're not shipping anything more : (

Ride safe everyone. Those wet leaves combined with cold pavement and tires...they SUCK.

Buell gear is flying off the shelves. I've been checking it out all day today on the internet.
Anyway it was Buell parts.com they are not a sponsor here. Found them on-line and they still have some Buell gear left and a lot of Buell parts

Well, the Beast is no more...

I was involved in an accident on my way home from work tonight, hit a car making a left turn (typical) with no where to go. Whole front end is gone, the rear shock is in pieces...haven't had a chance to really look at it yet.

I now belong to the 10% club for surviving a bike vs car accident. I landed about 40-50 ft from impact zone under an SUV. Fortunately the on coming traffic was stopped and I didn't hit an on coming vehicle, I just slid under one. Knocked my shoes right off! Why does that happen? I was able to get up as soon as I stopped moving and the only injury sustained was a scraped knee.

Looking for a Valencia Orange XB12Scg in need of owner.

Ras,
Glad to hear that you are not seriously hurt. Landed 40 feet away and then under a SUV!!!! You are very lucky. Hope you can turn this bad thing into something good. Maybe a new CR?

Glad to hear you are ok. Must have been quite an impact to get your shoes knocked off. I bet you are going to be sore for a few days. I hate those left turning vehicles.... it seems for good reason. Best of luck getting things repaired.

Thanks everyone, I'm doing fine just a little sore.

Crashing's weird, looking back on it I swear there was a pre-congnitive moment, the spidey sense thingy, just didn't react to it quickly enough...there was just no where to go. Had I tried to swerve left and accelerate out of the "pocket" this guy was shooting for, I would have been hit broadside and possibly hit another car head on, going right, rear passenger door maybe.

I'm still trying to figure out how I flew off the bike. I must have done a twist once ejected cause I landed going backwards. I just remember going down towards his front wheel, then time slows a little...low side left, knee hits the pavement, front wheel makes contact, I'm counter leaning trying to stay upright as I'm going down. I see the fly screen disintegrating, let go of the handlebars then I'm ejected, head leading the way (left shoe under my bike now), but I can't make out what's what for a second. Now I'm traveling backwards, If I had looked "down" or back (chin to chest)? I would've noticed I was missing a shoe. I see grey sky instead, flying backwards (looking up). I remember thinking "This sucks I can't see where I'm going, what am I going to hit"? then I landed, slid for a little bit and stopped looking at the bottom of a Cherokee by the driver's side door.

The poor guy that hit me was a wreck! He was even wearing a Harley shirt, "I just just can afford to buy one" he said. Seemed like a real nice guy, I still feel bad for yelling at him. I must have looked like a damn lunatic getting up so quickly and freakin' out on this dude. I was furious. A few people got out of their cars to make sure I was fine, but they kept their distance. Picked up the bike, noticed the shifter lever peg was gone, put it in N and pushed it onto the sidewalk the road and called Cathy to tell her what happened and that I was ok. She freaked out of course, then came to meet me. The paramedics and police arrived and I was treated for a minor scrape on my knee, Cathy arrived shortly thereafter. We spoke to the driver and passenger and made sure everyone was alright, I apologized for freaking out like I did, it was uncalled for, sh!t happens right?

I had both headlights on, but especially at dusk, you just gotta look left one more time...just in case. White helmet...white gear...don't be surprised if I look like a freakin Q-tip the next time we go ride.

Still not sure how much work is going to take to get 'er back on the road. I just hate to look...it is now a XB12SLcg (Super Low center of gravity) there's only about an inch of clearance now, can't event use the kick stand, leaning against the wall like a beat up tramp. Pathetic!

Oh well...I'll be seeing ya's. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Gotta get the 9 back on the road...

The end.

So glad to hear you're okay! It helped me to try to write out my memories when I hit a deer. It was such a surreal event that I wanted to piece together what I remembered to try to understand what happened. I found myself sliding on the ground headfirst and belly-up as well - it must be a innate reaction of the body to twist like that. Good thing...I slid on my back and elbow armor!

I appreciate your writeup for the additional benefit of reminding myself how incidents can happen. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck getting back on two wheels!

Man, you are one lucky dude Ramone! How does an impact knock off SIDI's ???? So what's salvageable from the beast? It would make a good parts bike with Buell going under. Hell you could piece together a Red Neck Engineering chopper. Send pics. I want to see the carnage.

Tony,

At a glance it almost looks like nothing's wrong with it other than the headlights, flyscreen, and the front assembly are destroyed, nothing left but cables.
The instrument panel panel is intact. Despite going down on the left side, both scoops faired well.
Lost the foot lever on the shifter.
Left foot rest broke in half.
Front rim is missing a 3-4" chunk off of it (amazingly the tire maintains air pressure).
Haven't taken a close look at the forks to check it they're bent, but they appear ok.
The frame looks great until you look by the front isolator bolt and mount. Both where broken and the frame where the bolt attached was sheared. As the isolator mount gave, it shot towards the engine taking a few cooling fins with it along with half of the threads where the left bolt for the mount connects.
It won't turn on, nothing happens, the ignition is in pieces.
The seat won't come off.
The rear shock exploded and the rear tire is holding everything up back there now.
The passenger pegs and mounts survived.
Lost the right mirror.
The header looks like it was pinched as it hit the frame of the car, right above the exhaust mount.
Lost the front right turn signal.

I'm hoping to replace it with an exact replica of a newer year, 07 or 08, the frames went black after that. That was a great bike, we've had many good times.

It will be hard finding a Valencia Orange 08 Scg. I'm going to need amber rims.

Right now I'm looking at a Black 07, the guy also has the cherry bomb plastics and rims he's including. Only problem it's not an Scg. I think I could get used to a slightly taller bike.

Thanks all for your kind words and for thinking of me.

Just sore/cramping muscles all over. I'm a little skiddish, but looking forward towards riding with 'yall again.
