Don't forget the EBR Race Wear discount we passed out at our last meeting. Arizona, November, and California, December. You get a discount, a great Holiday gift, and we are supporting one of the only American made Motorcycles and Race Teams in the country.

Thanks, REX

Earth Day Motorcycle Fun Ride &
Fuel Economy Competition, Sunday, April 21, 2013
No Entry Fee No Prizes Just a fun ride Bragging Rights

Motorcyclists, Let’s do our part to demonstrate how motorcycles can help reduce fuel usage, reduce roadway crowding, use less natural resources and help save our planet.

Motorcycle Classes:
Electric- electric motorcycles may turn back at “The Junction”
Unlimited Streamliner
Under 700 cc
Over 701 cc
Worst Gas Mileage?

We’ll depart at 10:30 AM from Unlimited Motorsports, 7899 South Front Road, Livermore, CA 94551. There is a 76 gas station across the street to top off your fuel tank.

We’ll ride as a group to “The Junction” for a something to eat and drink. Then we’ll ride to Patterson. At Patterson we will take the I-5 freeway back to our starting point at Unlimited Motorsports. Freeway speeds will be at least 70 MPH. Total miles traveled are approximately 114 miles.

At the end of the ride we fill up our fuel tanks and calculate our MPG to find out who used the least amount of fuel.

Report from our Flat Track Night. More to come...

Hi Rex,

You missed a great meeting! Bill Keys did a fantastic job organizing Flat Track Night. I would say that it was the best one yet. I would say that each year has gotten better. I think Bill said enough money was collected when we passed the hat around.

At one time I counted approximately 80 people. With so many people it was pretty warm in the room. To get enough chairs I raided some side rooms.

I was a little worried that we would not have many gifts for the raffle. Little did I know that the boxes or should I say cases stacked against the wall was for the raffle. There was so much stuff that we finally announced anyone that did not win anything to come up to pick a prize. Boxes of stuff was left over for the next meeting.

The majority of the raffle prizes were from Ace Hardware. I'm not sure who invited the Ace Hardware person but he brought a lot of great stuff; folding chairs, collapsible ice chests, carrying cases, blankets, etc. Bill donated some race speciality stuff.

I don't remember all the speakers. Announcements were made for the British Clubman show this weekend, flat track racing later this year, Quail motorcycle show, etc.

For the Zero Motorcycle tour we had 9 people interested in attending. A couple of them are not sure if they can make it. I might have a couple more people interested from another club. I will know by Wednesday night. I will contact Abe after Wednesday.

We had a long meeting.

Alan Smith

Bill, Thanks so much for making ASBN Flat Track night by Bill Keys such a success.

I hear we had over 80 people there, great discussions by legends, great bikes to view, and lots of prizes.

ASBN is a meeting place where all Motorcycle enthusiasts can come together and have fun, and enjoy every aspect of the sport. Flat Track racing is one event that is cemented into our 2 wheel culture. So exciting, and so many heroes.

I am glad that you are so passionate about this and are willing to work so hard to keep people remembering Flat Track Racing.
If you can, please express our gratitude to everyone that came out to the event last night, bringing bikes, photo Cd's prizes, and themselves.

Nothing is better than good old fun, and enjoying our sport. REX

A big Thanks to Jon Rosendall, Alan Smith, Jim Armstrong, and Jack Van Voast for hosting the May ASBN meeting. here is a quick recap.
________________________

We had a great meeting.

Don Danmeyer, BSA club, held court for an hour, showing excellent bike photos of his immense collection and technical commentary. Equally important was his contributions about his club which was very inspiring.
He was loudly applauded, for his presentation, and his enthusiasm for the BSA Brand, and their dedication to it as a club.

The other reports from Alan, Jim and Quail pics were great fun. Jon Rosendall talked about future events and that we need to get specifics down for Laguna's ASBN gathering.
Everyone agreed. The planning meeting was announced and Mike Rudimetkin said he wanted to ride up from the South Bay to participate. Monday night, May 13th, 6:30 pm, Peet's in Castro Valley.

We had 26 in attendance, including regulars, a new guy (Moto Guzzi) and a 2nd timer. Jack Van Voast was there, and he and Jon have committed to riding their S2's when they get a chance.

Unfortunately the new owner of Dick's died suddenly, the same day Jon talked to him about ASBN, and our commitment to meet at Dick's. Apparently his son will now try to run the place. So we are touch and go again. Jon took all of our ASBN promotional items home as a precaution. Lisa is one of our contacts at Dick's. She has promised better service.

American Sport Bike Night celebrates 15 years, December 2nd.

December 2nd, 2013, American Sport Bike Night (ASBN) will celebrate its 15th year Anniversary.

15 years ago, 3 Buell Enthusiasts, traveling back from Las Vegas in a bread Truck, thought that the Bay area should have a meeting place for people who love the Buell Motorcycle.
Since that time, ASBN has never missed a first of the Month meeting.

Many noted celebrities have attended our meetings over the years. Erik Buell, Craig Vetter, Joe Leonard, Mert Lawwill, and others to name a few.

We are a group of Motorcycle Enthusiasts that love our Buell Motorcycles. We meet the first Monday of each Month in San Leandro, California,
swapping stories, exchanging Tech tips, keeping up with what happening in the world of Motorcycles, engaging in Buellish Bahavior.
We are not a club. There are no membership dues or meeting fees. Each month is a themed event, and we have several Destination rides over the year.

We meet at Dick’s Restaurant.
3188 Alvarado Street
San Leandro, Ca. 94577
6:30 pm, the first Monday of each Month.

You can get in touch with us at these sites.

Our website is Americansportbikenight.com
