Check out grandstand (Board sponsor) I traded Email with them a few months ago. Never pulled the trigger, but good price, and I have not heard anything bad about them.

Well I covered 640 miles this weekend and averaged 41 MPG that is not too shabby considering some of the speeds I was running at. Lowest average was 34 MPG and Highest was 46.4 MPG.

Random shot approx 22 miles East of Bend at Horse Ridge viewpoint.

Only had 45 miles wind gust on my way there and 15 mph coming home. Much better.

hey thump, how did you order those bars anyway? I sent an email request for 1125cr parts and they replied that the parts supplement isnt available yet for the cr and they dont have a known date for the arrival of it, so until they get it they supposedly cant order parts.

We should meet up so you can take a closer look at those bars then!

I got the same response so I called another dealer. Not quite sure how they can have the CR for sale but not parts book. Anyways...

Ordered on Mon. had them on Fri. If they had the parts number there is no good reason they couldn't order them.

This is the parts number from the invoice: N00037.1ATCZT

Now that I am a bit more used to it I love it. No more mirrors or speedo in my direct line of sight. I'm sitting a bit more forward as well. It helps a bit more on the highways as I don't have as much wind resistance.

Graham and I met up and rode out to Latus where we met Slimdave. Dave thanks for taking the time to talk to us and showing us the CR in the back with the optional handle bar kit installed. It makes the CR feel more like the TT or a Tuano R1000 according to Dave.

There are tons of Buells on the floor and 4 1125R's as well as two 1125R race bikes. One of them has the 2nd generation Latus designed exhaust which looks good to me. It will be available after Latus finishes up their Fixtures for producing these. The DB level falls just under track acceptance levels. I believe Dave said it was 102db.

Latus also has their own Fuel controller to go with the pipe.

Once they get the HMF in they plan on a comparison between the two.

After I had to jet home fort an appointment I went back out to hit bald Peak.
Here is a shot on my way back on 219. I love this S corner.

Pulling off on the shoulder in the middle of corner makes a lot people think you crashed.

I had another fellow Buell rider pull over to check as well. Not sure if anyone here knows him. His name was Mark and he rides a 04 red Firebolt with amber wheels. I told him about he site maybe he will post up.

(If you stop they will come)

Well, it was one of those weekends. Had a reasonable weekend planed; Date night Saturday, paint the master bathroom and a bit of bike maintenance. Not so much. We lose out chance to jump on things Friday, I have to work late getting a few things finished up, and Mrs. Borrowedbike feels like crap. Still got the mirrors and light fixtures off the bathroom walls and agree to jump on the painting first thing Saturday. So we hit the ground running Saturday. I get up, make a pot of Joe and start on some buttermilk pancakes. The nights water glass goes in the dishwasher filling it so in goes the soap and I fire it up. A few minutes later I’m flipping the cakes over, enjoying the coffee when I notice a puddle on the kitchen floor. Water is pouring out from the dishwasher door! A few heated moments of yelling, towels, and bailing out the bottom of the dishwasher with a yogurt container things calm down. A few minutes of troubleshooting suggests a plugged drain. So I go for it. Pulled the dishwasher drain hose, disposal, and trap out, cleaning everything up. I haven’t found anything obvious so I decide I better snake the pipe. Problem is I don’t have a snake. Off to the Home Depot for a snake, and while I’m there I’d better rent that 28 footer for the gutter that I noticed is plugged. I clean the gutters and snake the drain while my bride tapes the bathroom. She comes out after about 30 minutes to hold the ladder for me and we finish up a few hours later. Run the rental ladder back and back home, it’s now about 1 PM, I have yet to start on the bike, and we have a double date in a few hours. Oh and, the bathroom isn’t going to paint itself though! So we lean into the bathroom, and finish up the last roll of tape. Notice I didn’t say taping the bathroom. Out of tape with 15 feet of ceiling left to tape off. None the less, we get the first coat of brush work done where we can and call it a day with the paint. Off to the garage I go to start with flashing a new fuel map. I warm up the bike, hook up the laptop and flash the EEPROM. Just need to set the throttle position sensor, and I’m ready to test ride. Highly complex process of; back out the idle screw all the way, hold the throttle shut and click a button on the laptop. Yet I managed to completely F&*^ it up. Backed the idle screw (Actually a cable that runs from under the frame to the throttle body tucked up over the heads and under the air box.) too far. The cursing was, well, offensive even to me and I was a sailor for six years. Hell I was the one doing it! Two strike on the weekend. If I’ve ever learned anything about turning a wrench it’s when to STEP AWAY FROM THE TOOLS. Off to the shower and date night. Oh almost forgot to mention, I decided to snug up the kickstand bolt while I m at it too (Buell Guys understand this) so I put a few turns on it. Keeps spinning WTF, a few more minutes and I notice the dam bolt is sheared! Guess I’ll grab a new one when I grab the oil. But for god sakes, be careful, bike could fall over! Cut to Sunday, Saturday night was nice, redeemed most of the evils’ from the day and finally tried Toro Bravo (Yummy!) So up and at it on Sunday, waiting at the hardware door at 9 AM when the door opens to grab some tape. Back home, finish taping and get the first coat on the walls, things are starting to look good. After the first coat, I head to the garage to finish up the bike. Off with the air box tweak, twist, and grunt until I get the idle screw started again. Scrub the blue stripe off the frame form the bathroom paint that was on my pants and therefore transferred itself to the bike. Set the TPS, warm up the bike and decide on a quick test ride. Off for a quick rip along Skyline and back, Damm this bike feels good! Home, kickstand down (GENTLY, give it a shake make sure it’ll hold) Hell, wheels could use a wash off too. Mistake, Dumb Dumb mistake. Can you see where this is going? Lay a hand on the dam bike, clink, and suddenly it’s on its side. One broken mirror, one broken peg, and mildly bent clutch lever. Damm fluids can change themselves. I’m sitting on my ass drinking beer the rest of the weekend…

Damn Borrowed sorry to hear about it. Sounds like some of my weekends when my basement floods.

However I would take a leaky dishwasher and broken peg any day over what happened today.

I am still in somewhat disbelief about the whole situation.

David (Ravens Voice)had asked me to come out this weekend to help with some ECM Spy tweaking and to do a run out to Ripple brook RS and back. A friend of David's who is also a Co-worker (Swing Production Lead) of mine was coming along to. He had just got a new 2005 Kawi Z1000 and wanted some road time on the new bike.

Being that he was new to street riding we did a easy ride staying to posted speed limits and taking it easy in the turns. Most he previous riding had all been dirt.

Well at mile post 44 for some he reason swung wide on a right hand turn crossing the yellow center line. At the same time a full size Quad Cab pickup pulling a camper was coming around the same corner.

I am not going to go into the details here other then I wish his wife the best and pray that she is able to pull through with her loss. He was only 24.

This happened around 2:00 today and I just now got home around 8:00.

RIP

We need a club meeting... Been a long time.

Fundraisers?
Latus? Any track Day(s) for 2009 season? Service issues (two sets of scratched up wheels in the club)
Hand out new membership cards, (Two I think)
Demo CR?
Other opens?

When feels like a good time to meet?

Funny that you mentioned this Paul. I was just talking to Dave at Latus this weekend about scheduling a time to use the conference room at Latus.

I think either Saturday or Sunday would be good. I was going to send out an email to the group since not everyone checks in here.

Catching up:
E-mailed Swede last night during travels from SoCal (nice riding weather, but perhaps better in a rental car considerig traffic!)... can't make a meeting this weekend due to Beemer inflammation problem that can only be cured via weekend ride through NorCal (forecast looks good and gas is cheaper).

If y'all meet at Latus, then have a great time. Do me a favor and tally up the membership so I can check with the club bank balance; note - I've not yet reimbursed myself after paying for the banner this year via credit card.

Be careful. Especially after reading about Swede's weekend ride.

Anyone decided to attend the Thunderhill PSSR session? No PSSR trackday schedule yet for 2009, but I plan to do 2-3 again.
