Well, I am a born again fan of this dealership thanks to the great day we all had yesterday. I missed meeting Stephanie yesterday...I don't know how I kept missing her, I was down there for a total of five hours. She was busy and I was busy with the BVR booth, our Bueller ride and just meeting and talking to everyone. First I would like to say how generous and gracious it was for HD to feed our bellies and our Buells...very nice! Also, it was great to meet Curly and Mary Ann. How refreshing to know such down to earth folks are running things for HD! It was a real pleasure talking with Marry Ann too. She's a real biker to the core and I look forward to riding with her again soon! It was cool finally getting out with BAB...it's been a while. Thanks everyone for a great day!

That was great fun on Friday. I too would like to thank everyone involved with getting all that together. Also, I met Jon yesterday, and he was great to talk to. An all around good guy. It is an honor to have such busy people stop in and say hi, or go riding with us for that matter.
Jon, also confirmed that the 1125R will be at Miller for the trackday in September. We will be the first normal folk to get to ride this beast. So, for anyone on the fence about going, you'd better get on it, it will be a once in a lifetime experience. |

i had fun on the ride......thanks for sandbaggin for us slower folks so we could keep up though....
The heat on the other hand.......i'm pretty sure i lost about 18 lbs in water on the return side of the ride. |

It's much more meaningful when viewed in the Garmin Mapsource application. It's a nice way to keep track of your performance on certain corners and helps track improvement. |

The lady friend will be in Cali for a week....wonder how she is going to feel about her new bike having twice the mileage on it as before she left town.... |

Yeah, I think its 480 lines or something. Did you see the line for 129MPH...it's a glitch. I believe I was tucked into a draw that created a bit of a satellite blind spot there because it's on a tight curve when I reviewed the track. I have however clocked my bike at 127MPH coming back from Featherville this early spring...that one was no glitch.
I won't be riding much this weekend but I have been promoting this forum to anyone who could benefit. I told Jake, the new parts guy at High Desert and he is very impressed with the Buells and wants to be the Buell parts specialist. Since Tom (The Chrome Specialist...not sure on the name)has gone to Big Twin a Buell parts dude is in definite need. Also, I have been parking next to a CityX at HP all summer and finally met the rider on the way into work yesterday...told him about the forum and sounds like he's heard of it. Said he was looking for folks to ride with and I told him about you hooligans (I also told him about the angels in BVR too ;^).

I can pretty much do anytime Sunday morning mike....my schedule is pretty laid back on the weekends.......that is for as long as the girlfriend is out of town...
I was thinking about an 8 or 9am start time depending on if its a bogus basin ride or an Idaho City ride. Not sure were else to go.

I havent signed up yet.....im pretty freaked out about the $3000 i have spent recently that i dont have. You could say i dont exactly have the 100k a year salary i used to have so money and priorities have been a little messed up. While I know that the inside pass is something i should not let myself miss out on im just not sure i should be spending more cash i dont have. Hell I even have a girlfriend PUSHING me to go to it........WELL SHIT GUYS..........! GUESS WHAT! I just talked myself into paying for the track day so i guess i am going with the 3 of you......
someone let me know the travel plan....i will need to get my vacation time on the work schedule so let me know what day you guys want to leave and when we are planning on coming back.
also if you guys are wanting to just crash at my fathers place in SLC thursday night after all the track time jut let me know..im sure he wont mind letting us crash at his place....may not be a 5 star hotel but its cheap. UPDATE: just got off teh phone with my dad.....he has one bed and two couches to crash on.....i dont mind hitting the floor so anyway if you guys want to pass out there thursday night rather than driving home it shouldnt be a problem.

Jeremy, sounds great, glad your going. And you won't be sorry, it will be stupid fun. I'd gladly sleep wherever at your Pop's, thank you and your dad for the offer.
About the travel, I think we will leave after lunch on Wednesday the 5th and stay in Tooele that night at the hotel. Then at your Dad's place after the trackday and come back Friday whenever you guys want.
I'll get after making reservations at the hotel if everybody is cool with it. I would assume will get two rooms, each with two queen size beds. Let me know what you guys think.
Then, it's just the truck and trailer to figure out. Bill, let me know what's going on with you and your truck search, hopefully we can work something out.
If you all have some different ideas let's hear 'em, I'm up for whatever. |

i just took the wed.-friday off so whatever time you guys want to leave works for me. as far as the rooms for wed. night anything works for me just keep me informed of any costs we are going to have so i can plan for it. |

We can use my trailer 6'x12' But my truck really only seats 2. Maybe the dealer will let us advertise for them with there rig, or something with a receiver hitch that 4 could ride in??? |

OK, I may be able to help out quite significantly. I have a friend in town who owns an RV Rental biz that owes me a week with any RV he rents. I haven't talked to him for a while but he is a great kid and I am sure he can help us. So, if you all can help me take care of my expenses (including track day reg fee) I'll look into this. This takes care of a place to stay, method of travel and a way to tow a trailer. Shall I give him a call? |

Bill, if needed i have no problem driving my scion to slc. whomever rides with me might want to consider a kidney belt though...LOL.
Just going to warn you guys though: there is a slight chance that the lady friend might tag along. She wont be doing any track time if she comes but she may spectate. I kind of dont think this will happen but there is the chance.....so i would be driving my own car anyway if this is the case. |

Tim, that's tempting, my only concerns would be cost of fuel, and if you could actually tow with it. Most rentals don't allow any towing for liability reasons.
I was planning on heading out for a ride this weekend, most likely on Sunday, let me know if anyone is interested. |

he might be cleaning for a bit, fractured his wrist in a few places, so it seems as though he wont be riding for a while.... mike, let us know when ya get back from the consult....
as far as september goes, we need to figure out what and how... still think ya should go down with us mike. |
