I have no motorcycle suspension tuning history. I don't know what differences in compression and rebound feel like.

That being said... I will be arriving at Badness with a new to me WP adjustable rear shock installed!

I am requiering you all to help me get this thing dialed in.

That is all. Thank you.

Hey, do any of you locals know if there's a Waffle House in or near Suches?

I've been having dreams about "two eggs any style with rye toast and a triple order of hashbrowns scattered & smothered with onions".

Wolf, If you change your mind on loading the gear on your bike, I'm tagging a trailer along and could get your stuff to or from MBIV. I'm in PA, so shipping shouldn't be that bad.
Rasmonis and I are leaving for Deal's Gap Thursday a.m. from PA/MD and coming home sometime (late?) Sunday/Monday.

I'll have my crew cab and trailer should something unfortunate happen to anyone traveling down from the northeast and can't ride home. I have space at my shop for storage until the bike could be retrieved. (I don't like to think bad thoughts, but bad things happen to good people)

Just talked to the Lucia over at the High Valley Resort and booked the NEBO crew a cabin next door to the HV crew. One thing that she mentioned was that HVR is in a dry county and to bring my own alcohol.

How far to the nearest liquor store??? or should I bring my own???

Also how far is it from Suches to Lynchburg, TN????

It ain't close. Don't know if there is one in Dahlonega, pretty sure there's not. Dawsonville is the closest I know of and it's about 30 miles. Maybe more. Bring it.

You can get beer in any gas station/convenience store in Dahlonega, but the only wine/liquor stores I know of in the area are in Helen... not too far away. Helen would be a great excursion for those who've never been there, btw. It's an faux-Alpine styled tourist town that's kitschy-cool. German style with a Southern twang - it's as gaudy as it sounds, but in a good way.

"Ya'll come back now, you herr...".

Damnut, Lynchburg would be about a 4 hour drive from Suches.
It is about 40 minutes north of me here in Huntsville.

C'mon now, doesn't anyone have a "Still" nearby??? and if we bring our own spirits aren't we at risk of those "Revenuers"?

I hope someone brings some 'Shine, that would make a trip to the south utterly complete...hurray!

So let me get this straight....we're staying at the "High Valley Resort"???

Our own cabin??? Ahhhhh....a BED!

the forecast for tonight thru Saturday...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

RAIN WILL CHANGE TO A MIXTURE OF SLEET AND SNOW THIS EVENING...EVENTUALLY TURNING TO ALL SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. ONLY LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED BY FRIDAY MORNING...BUT HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FOR THE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING. A MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED TO RE-DEVELOP FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET FRIDAY NIGHT. THE POTENTIAL FOR 6 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET EXISTS... BEFORE ACCUMULATING SNOW END SATURDAY MORNING.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW... SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

You can talk about moonshine openly and there will likely be plenty to sample, but if you get too nosey (and noisy) about where the 'stills' are, you might get yourself excluded from a few invites. The established makers stay in business by keeping their sites secret.

White Lightning is still a source of income for some folks out there and it's still against the law. If someone offers you some, don't even mention about where the still might be.

I made this mistake over 25 years ago...

Moonshine is pretty nasty stuff, btw. I've had supposedly the best in all of Lumpkin County, and it was pretty rough.

I'm pretty sure I can get some for MB... but I don't want any.

I can bring some Korean Soju... but I'd rather drink the moonshine.

Soju is an old, traditional Korean snakebite remedy. If you get bit by a snake, you empty the contents of the bottle on the snake and then smash the bottle on your head.
