Good news Dave, I think......
We should get together and discuss before too long.
How about meeting for a beer in the next couple of weeks and discussing.
Maybe get a few of the other guys to tag along.
We really need to get something going this year.

Drop me a note or post here. Some of the other guys lurk and may see it.

Brad

Not a bad idea Brad...I'm thinking we can meet the first part of March. I'll also send out a group e-mail to the rest of the club.

Here's the SPHD Deal: Purchase any Cyclone M2, Lighting X1 or Thunderbolt S3T and you will receive a FREE trip to the Great Smokey Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway April 12-19. They will also trailer the bike down and back. Guess it's a $2300.00 value.

Hey all!

I think I am coming out of hibernation this weekend. It is supposed to be high 50's Friday and 60's (possibly) on Saturday!! Just fired up my M2 after setting all winter and it started almost without hesitation.

Now if they could just get some of that gravel off the roads soon...

Had my bike out today for about 2 hours. Absolutely awsome weather. Are you going up to SPHD on Saturday? I was thinking of stopping by and seeing what's new-well actually it just gives me an excuse to ride! I should be out riding by noon.

Well, we have our first track day of the year behind us now. What a great time. I was a little concerned if I'd be able to run as fast as last year. I had been riding a X1 and was very comfortable on it. I have switched to a XB9R Firebolt and figured I'd have to learn to ride all over again. I would've been thrilled to be able to run the same or close lap times on the Bolt for my first time out on it. Well last year my best lap time was a 1 minute 50.19 second lap. I was able to run a 1 minute 46.9 second with the Firebolt. My goal for the year was to take 5 seconds off my times, now that doesn't seem "lofty" enough so my new goal is to get into the 1.43s
My boss Doug is doing well also, he beat me twice during the day. Damm turn 7.
Craig did the race school so we didn't see him much all day.
I had my first "swap some paint" with another rider. Turned out I know the guy. It was Rob, he owns Lithium Motorsports and races CRA. We hit together pretty hard but it wasn't that big of a deal. One less thing to be scared of now!
I got to meet a bunch of the KC Mob guys that I hadn't met before.
Sam and Frank were in the novice group so I didn't get to ride with them. They had a ball too and I'm sure will be back for more.
In all there were 55 riders there.
If you haven't done a track day yet, DO IT!

Check out the posting for the Milwaukee Rally in the Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin thread. I a free opportunity to give Buell the recognition it needs in the motorcycle community.

Thanks,

Dave,
Still pondering a trip down from the twin cities. I had tentative plans for my son and myself to ride down, and my wife planned to drive down with her bike on the trailer. Now my son has to work both days. I don't want to ride down alone, so we'll probably put both bikes on the trailer. We'll see how things develop this week. (I'm keeping an eye on the weather channel. It looks good, so far. Whats the hotel you were recommending?

Tim,
Ping me off line (addy in profile).
I was kind of planning on the ride down just for kicks.
I'm working on a couple of my friends also.

M2ME, are you going?

Brad,

I didn't even see this until tonight! I didn't end up going. Did you? I wimped out last week and then the weekend turned out to be awesome weather. Do you ever post on ATC? I was responding to Dave and Dyna over there about this. There is supposed to be a national BattleTrax at the state fairgrounds at the end of May. I plan on going to that. Don't know if I'll compete. Maybe just watch. I've never even seen a BattleTrax event yet.

John,
Yep! I made the trip.
I ran into MikeE from south Mpls on the way down.
The head wind was a BITCH!!!! Got it going both ways as it switched during the day.
My neck is still sore from fighting the buffeting.

The Battletrax is on May 31 if memory serves.
It's being held at the fair grounds, probably in the midway area I suspect.
I didn't get a chance to ride the track in IA, I ran short of time as I had to be back home by 7:30.
I'm definately going to ride the one in St. Paul.
It looked like a hoot!!!

Get the word out to all your riding buddies. Maybe if we have a solid turnout it will become a yearly event.

Anyway, I have to run.

Ryan,
I'd love to but I have a family commitment on Sunday.
We're off to see the Smithsonian Vikings Exhibit at the Science Museum.
It leaves town soon, this is our last weekend available to see it.

Have fun on Sunday!

BTW, it was nice to finally put a face with the name. Nice to meet you!

Brad,

I didn't realize that you lived in Minn. I love the bicycle trails you have. I've spent a couple weeks up there a few years ago for Victory traing and loved the funding that has went into recreational areas! You got it made.

Would like to go up again but I think it would be hard to put the bike on my bike!

Are you going to RA for June AMA races? We go every year and stay at the Osthoff Resort if you'd want to try to meet up.

Well I'll keep in touch.
