My band, DGPG, will be playing live on the air on KKFI 90.1 FM this Friday afternoon 2-24-02 from 5:30-6:00pm as part of the annual KKFI band auction. We will do a couple of live acoustic numbers and probably play some of our material off of our recording project too.
I sure would like to see us get a good heavy rain to wash all the salt and grit off of the streets so it would be a little safer to ride on these nice weather days coming soon.

Amen, brother. I was just thinking that today as I was looking at the WHITE streets.

Rusty you are so right. We need a real good toad drowning rain to clear the road off. I'll have to remember to tune in on Friday and catch your playing.

I'm riding anyway. I only have five leans each way to work and back. I sure would love me some electric gear though. 17 degrees yesterday. 21 this morning. I bought one of those wind barrier neck things made by Bikers and a Fog City thingamabobber for my face shield. They both work great! I am glad I went to the meeting. The Fieldsheer suit I wear does the job for the short distance I travel, but I could be warmer.

Lee, Glad to hear some of the tips for cold weather riding are making the commute a little better. It has been pretty darn cold in the mornings. I'm still dealing with the throttle body butterfly freezing. I need an electric jacket for the fuel injection.

Take a look at this

"I need an electric jacket for the fuel injection."

You design and patent it, and I'll line up the manufacturing and marketing.

Gowindward,

You might want to bounce those routes off Sam. He has spent considerable time riding in Ark. Make sure you ride 123 and 341.

Keith, We will be hitting AR-123 a couple of times, but staying farther west than AR-341. That will have to be for another trip

Biker_Bob brought to my attention that the dates for the Arkansas ride is the Branson, MO. Rally weekend. Which that's okay with me, but we need to probably book our space a Iron Horse Stables early so as to not get left out in the cold, so to speak. I emailed them and started a discussion on reservations and trying to reserve a block of space for us. I would like to get a head count soon and also what kind of accommodations you would like to have reserved. Whether it be tent camping, camping hut, or hotel room. I will be tent camping, and Lowflyer indicated he would be camping too.

I have never been to Branson. I had actually thinking of peeling off and making that part of my trip home on Sunday unless it became part of our group agenda at some point.

Jim, I just think we need to be able to get some numbers to Iron Horse Stables, to be able to firm up reservations. At this point I'll put in in on the camping list. That makes three camping.

Drake how about you?

I have a small, lightweight backpacking tent and a decent sleeping bag in a compression sack. I also have a backpacking stove and some other stuff that I think will fit in or on a tail bag. Failing that, I'll load bike and all into my pickup and drive down. My goal is to be able to do it all on the bike though.

Drake, I bought a Ventura rack and pack system. As Sam put it, I'll have "Dump Truck Capacity" For camping equipment you have to think like a backpacker. "Small and Light"

Last time there was camping,it consisted of,sleeping bag,but we stayed in the little Aframe huts, and any additional cloths you might want to bring. It was all hauled down on bikes.

Well fellas, its official. I have accepted the job opening within my company in our Tulsa office. It was a really good opportunity that I just could not refuse. Kristin and I will be moving down there in May. You guys have to promise me you will come down to Arkansas and ride with me!

By the way, I need to sell my house (of course) here in Olathe. Anybody know of some potential buyers who are looking at homes right now? Due to my situation a good deal could be made for the buyer. Thanks everybody!

Drake

Drake your kiddin right!?

You gotta be crazy! I think we should make it a "Go see Drake in Arkansas" trip every other week during the summer, hope ya get alot of room for us guys wanting to shack up with ya : ).

Seriuosly though, congrats, I know how hard it is to move jobs, it sucks mentally, unless your name is Dave Tripp, he is the only one that makes it look easy!

Is your house listed yet?

Loren

I will have to see, we are supposed to go to Disneyworld around then, but if it does not conflict I might try to make it. Thanks for the invite!

Paul

Paul,
It's for real. I am really gonna miss riding with all you hooligans! We will have plenty of room for any of you that would need a place to stay.

The house is officially for sale tonight when I put the sign in the yard. I am going to try the "For Sale By Owner" approach since I have a few co-workers who are interested. PM me if you want some more details.

Drake, send me an e-mail with all the details. (Or build a web page.)

I have a co-worker who is telecommuting from Texas, but is moving back to KC as soon as she can find a place. (She is newly divorced so doen't need a huge place, but she has dogs.)

I'll relay the info to her.

Drake - being as I moved here from Colorado to keep my job (couldn't find another one back in Denver), it may seem hard to move, but it will work out just fine. Plus, the riding weather is a tad longer out there In Arkansas, I think.

Good luck!
