Jim (Nance),
Sorry I forgot to answer (or should I say try to answer) your question about the Blast! rear sprocket. The truth is I have no idea why the sprocket is so much wider than the belt. To save my arse today I happened to stumble upon an old issue of Battle2Win magazine (now defunct, but once published by a friend to all Bueller's Reg Kitrelle). Below is my best attempt at taking a picture from a magazine:
I would have to presume Reg's statement that the width of the sprocket is due to the manufacturing process as Reg was at Buell quite regularly during the days of Battle2Win. He still pronounces my name in a wierd way though.
Note: Due to how early Reg was at Buell for new Model Year stuff, your sprocket may not look exactly like the one in the pics. Isn't that right Dave?

your sprocket may not look exactly like the one in the pics. Isn't that right Dave?
2000 rear pulley recall. The new one has I believe an extra 3 teeth. And it won't break in half.  |

Jim, sorry to hear of the diagnosis, but at least it can be controlled. My dad's been living with diabetes for about 10 years now and it hasn't seemed to slow him one bit.
On the recall sprocket, the early, exploding sprockets were 73 teeth, and the updated one is 80 teeth. I certainly was surprised when I heard that Marks' Blast! had lunched a rear drive sprocket. I meant it broke clean through in one spot and was cracked about 2/3 way through just a couple of inches further along. Pretty amazing considering it's construction.

Mike(W)- sorry you couldn't make it over after the ride. We stayed up until 3:30 in the mornin drinking and BS'n. Nice fire, had the barn stereo cranked up, What an ending to a great day.
Uh, kneehigh boots is all I need to see, whips and chains are a +!!

I went back to the fairgrounds today and actually found Mike this time. I walked around with him and his son, and we took in the sights. He introduced me to a friend of his who makes chaps:
Next we went over to watch an event. If I knew anything about horses, I'd tell you what it was called. But I saw some of the peviously mentioned boots and I wanted a trophy picture to bring back. Of course you can't just snap a picture of a girl's boots or she'll think (know) you're a perv. So I put Mike & Son next to her and took their picture.
Later I went to the restroom and left Mike with my camera. He was snapping pictures of the girls when I got back. 
It was a good day. And great to see Mike & his son again. |

Count me in! Last years adventure was a hoot. If we can get more people together it will even be more fun. Plus Buell owners get a free T-Shirt at all the IMS shows! After my ride to our meet up point, I will definitely be thanking Dave or whomever for the lift in a nice warm cage.

Nice pictures! If I had known that's what I would've missed I wouldn't have spent all day playing in the garage. Since I got nowhere to go for Turkey day I will be making the most of the 4 day weekend and will finish project 'garage reorganization', and am planning to get a new front tire installed on the V-Rod (hell the tire has been sitting in my living room for about a month now), among a laundry list of other items I need to get done during the break.

I'm still around, just been busy. This weekend I finally got around to swapping out the cracked fairing mount on the XB, while I was at it I installed the '06 front isolator and a new double-bubble windshield to replace the one I broke at the track. Due to another badweb thread, I've decided my next car is going to be a Volvo 240. Apparently you can get them for about $2k, and still drive them another couple hundred thousand miles.
I don't get emotionally attached to my cars, so I'd prefer something cheap. My first was a 1965 Dogde Dart owned by my mother before she was married (I may have been concieved in that car). Thats the one I was most attached to, but it really was a piece of junk. Reliable junk, but junk none the less. I married a woman who did like cars, and ended driving the ones she was tired of. Since I'm no longer married to her, I think I'm going back to beaters. |

It's good to see that you've come to your senses! Sorry, that's just me being an •••. We would be behind you with whatever your decision was.
From my point of view, cars can wait - bikes have the priority. Maybe someday I'll grow up (never) or out of it (not very likely), but currently my goals are set on Jay Leno. You can never have too many bikes! Unfortunately I can only (barely) afford 2 right now, so I will have to wait and slowly add to the collection.
Do you install them (tires) yourself?
I wish I did! $22 per tire everytime just to change out the stinking rubber and balance! Presently I am at the mercy of a shop as I take the wheel off the bike and the tires that I buy off the internet to a shop and have them change them out. Back in the early days of Buell I did my share of 'busting tires' with a manual tire machine and assembling the rotor and sprocket and cush drive over a 35 gallon barrel. One of these days I would like to add a tire machine and a balancer to my assortment of tools (of which I just found more doing more organization in the garage tonight!) because if I add up the amount of money I have invested over the years to have rubber swapped out and tires balanced I begin to think I could've afforded another bike by now... Now if that ain't a bummer I don't know what is!

Hey guys, Good news. Just got back from the doctor and he said my leg and foot look good and I can get back to work and even do some skating. No more crutches!!!! He did have some bad news. He told me that after I broke my face I no longer look like Mel Gibson. Well I may have let him believe I looked like that before the crash. Anyway I'll be out doing some riding this long Thanksgiving weekend. Hope to see some of you all soon. You all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family. |

Hi, for those of you who click on the link that I posted earlier, it no longer has the video link. We are trying to get the News Station to send us a copy. The kids loved it. Was amazing, The F-15 simulator was unbelievable(almost as fun as a good Buell ride We just found out we will go to Disney for Kylie's wish on the first of March.
As for Spike, I figured there was little chance of you giving up the Bolt'. Looks too good on you.
Tires- Cycle Gear in raleigh has very close to internet prices and like $7-9 install prices when you buy there(off the bike).
Oh and we are talking of going to DC for the IMS. Money is tight as everyone knows.

Larry- I owe you an apology. I did not mean to dismiss you and your family's struggle's. It must be very rough. I am glad to hear that there is a ray of sunshine for your children to look forward to. I listened all day to the "Bob and the Showgram pennies from Heaven" show. It benefitted(sp) Make-A-Wish. Last year I believe they raised 200,000 $. Great organization. No disrespect intended to you or your children. Sounds like a really fun time with the pilots and planes.
