M2-Why not make it make it a C-3 mini-vacation. I have Extra space in my house, mother in law lives 100 feet away(a whole other story!), she has a half a house that she does't use. Plus a neighbor has 4 or 5 buildings that could be used to sleep, park bikes in. Big bonfire, drink and shoot the guns and shi! a while. Wake up early, go to the local favorite breakfast joint, then hit some curves. I live out in the sticks so we can be as loud as need be!

I wish I could make it tomorrow for Michael's, but I got'er tore down & painting the tail section. I'll be there in spirit(through the paint fumes)

Wlecome to all the other new Buell riders. You live in the best area there is.
Y'all start making plans for Myrtle Beach! Be nice to have a group of Buells roll into some the chopper infested parking lots.

Just got back from Michaels, had a really good time. Turns out a couple of the guys there were coaches. I enjoyed listening to their stories. It always impresses me when people take the time to care about kids.

After breakfast, I lead a ride through the area around the lake. It was fun. Its the first time I have been out front, and I find I like being in charge. :-) That was probably a 30 minute trip. I left the group at 64, and saw them head south on 55. I suspect they are still on their bikes as I type this. :-)

It was good seeing everyone. I hope we get to do it again soon!

Good morning all - Tomorrow morning I am riding my bike from Raleigh to the outter banks in order to chaperone a field trip for my daughters school. I don't know the exact route, but I have been told we will be going down 64, with the chaperones following the bus carying the students.

One thing that concerns me is that if the bike were to have serious problems, I would need to abandon it on the side of the road. I have responsibilites for the kids, so I can't stay with it. If this were to happen, what should I do? Do I call a dealer or a towing company (and ask them to do what) or someone else?

Jim, you shouldn't have any problems but if you do, the number to Shelton's Goldsboro is:

1-919-731-2776

Along your route, other than Ray Price, we're the closest Buell dealer until you hit Virginia. Don't worry though, you and the Cyclone will do just fine.

Just want to say what a great time it was yesterday. Thanks to everyone who participated. I also want to say welcome again to Mike, John, and Brandy who attended the meeting and rode all day long. The coolest thing about Buells is neat people who ride them. The entire day was a pleasure even if at times the path was too straight

I have a trivia question about yesterday:

Why did the chicken cross the road?}

Thanks for putting up with me.
Maybe next time we can keep it under 130.

I also like to say I was impressed with Brandy's
riding skills.

Why did the chicken cross the road?}
He was looking for the twisties!

You're on my short list of cool Buell people. And your in my cell phone. I really appreciate the phone number. I'm sure the bike will be fine, but I worry anyway. I washed it this afternoon and the blinkers didn't work for an hour afterwards. I guess I got water in the flasher. It's little things like that that make me paranoid.

Well, definitely had a great time meeting everyone. I cant wait to do it again. Yeah I think tops I made it up to about 80. Hmmmmmm. You guys really move. Also a special thanks to Brandy for helping me find my way cause it definitely would have been a lot harder if your help was not there. The end of the day, when we saw the chicken, was some of the most fun for me. Those roads rocked!

Nah, Muells don't go THAT fast. Y'all got to be lying. My 883 Custom only goes 100 with a tail wind an' it's got one of them Muell engines.: )

We were upstanding citizens all day, never broke a single traffic law.............until we were provoked by the imitation Harley in Clayton.

I also want to commend Brandy on her riding skills. Though reverse on her Firebolt seems to be slipping a bit.

If you thought those roads rocked, we got plenty more. John, we'll get everyone over to Maple Hill soon. You'll kick yourself when you find out how close it is to Jacksonville. Also, just north of New Bern (Brandy) is a bunch of good roads along with some decent ones heading the back way to Oriental, which is cool destination in its own right.

We're thinking of having a party this Saturday night.

To all had a great time with the group. Our little family is growing, I'm so proud. LOL

norrisperformance: Mike, why? If it were a back road, I probably would have joined in. I hit 120 on the Honda today. I think it had some left. It got there pretty quick.

Jlnance: Jim, if you have problems out east we can take care of you. Get up with Dave and if need be, he knows where my motorcycle trailer is. Also my wife Kristi, has offered to pick you and the bike up if you need it. She says call her on the cell phone 1-252-286-7080 or the the house 1-252-524-4430. She covered nine counties from Raleigh to the coast, on her last job, so she knows most roads out east. She cannot load the bike on the trailer but can get you and the bike where you need to go. Also she pointed out that Brag has its benefits. I do not know to what extent the offer, but there is Road Side Assistance. If its in the afternoon, I'll come get you and the bike. Either way, I have clocked 3500 miles in the last month on the M2, and I have had some issues, but none that stopped the trips. By the way, it turned over 35,000 miles Sunday. It still runs good enough to pick the front wheel in traffic. I was in the back when we passed a car wash and we had a crowd signaling wheelie. I did three power wheelies in stop and go traffic. Basically hopped the front wheel three times. I also started to lift coming out of the dealership.

U4euh: Jim, sound like a must for me. I don't know when, but a definite must. I know I am booked up the next two weekends and most of May, but still have all summer to Get-R-Done.

Fbxb9r: Brandy, it was great to meet you Sunday. I told my wife about how tough you were Sunday morning in the cold. She reminded me that Ron Ayers in Greenville is always having sales on gear, and she could keep an eye out for you. Also if you want to go up there one day, she offered to take you up there. I have bought most of our gear up there. My First Gear jacket was normally $275.00 and I got it 50% off.

Yohinan: John, again, good to meet you. I hope to get to ride in your neck of the woods next time.

Hello everyone-

Sorry I couldn't make it! Sure seems that things really seem to happen when I am not there for a meeting. I sure hope that isn't always the case. It sounds like it was a good time that I missed. I can't wait to be there for the next one!

Just a quick scan for tonight, more collected thoughts tomorrow...

Here's a couple of teaser pics from my weekend.: (Just put a Buell where the damn V-Rod is and you all will do just fine...)

Every one of ya'll are so cool and fun to ride with I can't wait to do it again.

John- Thank you for riding with me to Kinston- That was such a cold ride in I'm afraid I may have just turned around if you hadn't been with me. It was because of you that I got there(and got out of McDonalds)and ended up having such a great day.

Mike- Thanks for the complement I really appreciate it!

Dave- Thanks again for your cornering tips and finding out what was burning my leg/pants.---
Ha ha ha...I think that chicken was suicidal!!

Carlos- Thank you as well, obviously I got a good front cause I'm not that tough. I would love to see what all they got over there in Greenville. Can you guys use my information from the shop to get my number so your wife can give me a call or something? If so that would be great, let me know.

Hello All - Just got back from Mantio. Thanks to everyone who sent phone numbers. It really made me feel a lot better knowing I had someone to call if the bike.

It was a good trip, though I ended up riding further than I thought I would. I think I did about 540 miles alltogether.

On the way back, right after I turned off of 158 onto 64 (still on the outter banks), I was riding over a bride and I saw a bike comming up in my mirror. I waved as he passed. He pulled a few feet in front of me and I noticed he had gold wheels. The I look a bit more and realize he is on an XB. Its the first one I have ever just happend across on the road. I pulled up beside him and patted the Buell sticker on my tank. He nodded and then zipped off. Anyone have any idea who it might have been?

Jim, There seems to be more and more Buells out on the streets. Like Gig on his S-1 at T.W.O., he was just riding when he came up on us. With the 3%, 11 Buells in all. I think I've said this before, but I have passed two other Buells in eastern Carolina out on the road. Of course at Daytona and at T.W.O. I ran into quite a few. Really it surprised me on how many Buells we saw at Daytona.

Good to see you had a good and safe trip. At 540 miles you could make a run with us. Just short of 600 miles to Daytona and just short of 500 miles to T.W.O.

The only thing I have at 130 is my heart rate! Almost have that 1000 mile mark on my City X. I have notice a number of Buells on the rode this last year also. Well ya enjoy the great weekend. John

Dave - I want to go to Sheltons in Durham to get the Sling bag that Buell is giving away. When I went over there to attempt to get the Buell Hat for the last promotion, they had no idea what I was talking about. And I left hatless.

Is there someone over there I should ask for when I'm looking for Buell stuff?

Mike, I don't know if there would be a legal issue with having Buell in the logo. I would hope not since it's a BRAG chapter, but I will leave it to Dave & John at Shelton's to answer that question. I am personally not against it and would like to see the design concept.

Jim,
The person to see over at the Durham store is Dave Clark, or better yet, just jump on the M-2 and buzz on down to Goldsboro and pay me a visit. Now that you've done the Outer Banks and back, scootin' to this part of the world is just a hop-skip-and a jump. I'm also really giving test rides. All I have available to demo are 12's(oh darn) but I have a route that has some moments.

Gramps, it was good meeting you, the time was too short though. But the season is young! You've been added to the mailing list.

Mike, we are allowed to use the Buell and BRAG logos with certain limitations concerning how the trademarks are presented. Most of what's been discussed will probably be O.K. but I'll have to check the regulations. Shoot me some sketches and I'll have Shelton and John look them over.

Having a get together tomorrow night if anyone is interested

Dave

Hmmm, thats a nice offer. I might take you up on it. Mapquest says it's 58 miles to your store. Thats not bad at all. As you say, after going to the outter banks, it's just a hop, sip, & a jump.

I must admit though, that the 200 miles to the outter banks is further than I like to ride. It stops being fun after a while and all I can think about is how much my knees hurt. :-)

Just so you all don't think I am a total wimp, 200 mile rides can be fun. The problem comes about when you are trying to stick to someone elses schedule. If you can hop off the bike when you get gas and drink a coke as you watch the traffic go by, it's a different ball game.

Now the people who rode down to Daytona recently... Wow, I have no idea how you managed that.

BTW, does anyone else put peanuts in their coke?
