Is anyone in the group interested in taking the MSF ERC? The instructor in Burlington does the course for around $30.00. I talked with him earlier in the year and he said he was planning on having a class in June. I was going to contact him tomorrow and see if he has firm dates and open spots.

My brother-in-law is an instructor here locally. I think his course is at Maplewoods Coll., Anyways if anybody is interested we can get a private course and discounted price for the ERC class. Also he can pretty much work around any dates.

I like that other KC forum. Very nice place to have a relaxing read without political insinuations. I LOVE IT!

Sam, are you using the speakers?

Here's the info from Burlington. I took one of the three open slots. for the 4th.

"We have an ERC scheduled for June 4 and I still have 3 openings. Cost is
$35.00 On 6-4 we start at 8:00 am and would finish after 5 depending on
how many riders there are. With three from your group that would be 15
or more.
It would be possible to have a larger group come for the classroom
portion from 8-12 on the 4th then return to Burlington on 6-5-2005 to
finish the riding portion on Sunday afternoon starting at 1:00 pm (a
group of 6-8 would be finished with the riding portion by 5 pm) on
Sunday."

Is there interest in the Saturday morning Classroom time and then Sunday afternoon range time?

Hey all the Blackfoot street Buellers are planning to ride some Friday night. Starting at the Other Place off Metcalf and 80th at 7:00. All are welcome, maybe a ride out to the plaza, or Lawrence. Probably in the rain!!!!

Had to fire up the generator to watch TV after the storm knocked out power tonight, Buell still is not ready to ride, maybe tomorrow.

Dealership called.
The crankcase breather line that dumps air and oil into the rockerbox MELTED!

Dripping melted plastic inside and on the valve guides, seats and/or whatever.... And it plugged up the breather.

They've never seen anything like that before. Darn.

Just got back from Gails. They have ONE (count 'em ONE) Buell left. They must be selling like hotcakes!

I was showing Mary the CityX saying that is what I would be getting if she decided not to do any long-distance 2-up riding.

It is official, I'll (most likely, if I want to stay married) be getting a Sportster 1200R or C with a GOOD pillion seat...... (unless Buell release a new sport tourer, which is VERY unlikely)

So much for my plan to stay in the Buell family forever, although I'll always have the Blast for shorter day rides and fun in the twisties.....

Dusty, shop around for a Sportster, the 1200's are a very good cycle. If I hadn't found such a good deal on my M2, I would have bought a 05 custom.

Zhdman - I'm not looking around too much right now, since I won't be in the market until next Spring.

Mary waffles back and forth from wanting to do 2-up traveling to keeping the cost low. There is no telling what I'll end up with. I'd like the CityX or the Sportster 1200R, depending on requirements. I may end up going used if I have to, to keep cost down, but as I just learned, I need to get a mechanic to check it over, first.

I'll certainly be looking at about 4 different dealerships. My budget is going to be small. Mary keeps remembering the MSRP for the basic 883 in 2004 and keeps referring to that number regardless of what I say. This will be an adventure.

The S3Ts look good, but didn't most of the tube Buells have recurring issues? I am not a mechanic. I can swap out bolt-on items, but......

NO NO NO you can help spread that rumor like all the nay sayers that the tubers are all defective and have issues I really don't care but you are not right yes there were a few items that came up but look at all the recalls all the other car and bike manufactures had and still have. That was a B.S. statement made by one of the Jap loving motorcycle rags put out and a lot of people took as gospel. I for one have not had really anything go wrong on my S-3 but mine is not quite like all the other S-3's as mine was stripped and used to make a chopper with and I bought what was left and rebuilt it back into a dependable ridable motorcycle...that looks as a nice and runs as good or actually better than most others on the rode or parked in the back of someones garage.....

Sorry - I'll correct that.
I've just seen some threads here talking about problem on road trips - but that may be normal for all bikes.

Keep in mind Dusty, that it's human nature to focus on the bad side of the issue, and ignore all the positive. most folks just need one thing to go wrong and they'll jump ship. From what I've seen Buell have been dependable in stock form, sometimes, it's when they start to change and modify they run into issue. Someone poured a ton of money into mine, before I bought, and with a few simple updates it stops, starts, handles so much better...

Afternoon gentleman. Seen some fellow buellers out and about yesterday down in Gardner at the Tumbleweed for a poker run. Not sure who they were, didn't get a chance to chat with them, but was good to see them out. I was down there participating. Butch Friend is a leadman on a line crew down at our Southland svc center at 199th and 69 Hwy in Stillwell and he is one of the high ups in the Gardner Lions club who was putting on the poker run, so some of the other journeyman and myself went on the ride. I only made it to 4 bars, but it was a good time. There was a yellow X1 lightning, an older orange and black tuber there and a white buell with some homemade lettering on the gastank. Unfortunately they didn't seek me out and I didn't do the same, catch up with you guys next time.
