I have a sticker on the front fork and I can't get the darn thing off with out scratching the fork. Any idea on how to get it off? It is a base sticker just like from the states or in austria.
Thanks

Most any sticker will soften with heat. Steal the hair dryer from the bathroom and use it as a heat source. Get as much as you can off then attack what's left and the glue with Goo-Gone or if available paint reducer.

WD-40 will often cause the adhesive to lose its grip, letting you peel the sticker off without much effort.

I know what you mean. Base stickers are backed with some "SUPER" adhesive. I just go really slow with a blade. They don't really peel, just break, like foil or some metal sheet. Take your time with the blade at a very shallow angle...

Methyl Ethyl Ketone....hot stuff, will remove nearly anything, including painted finish.

MEK is nasty stuff. I don't recommend! Denatured Alcohol works well on most glues, and Mineral Spirits work on the remaining amount. I use both daily. Another little trick is whatever glue is left, you can use masking tape, it will stick to the glue and bond pretty well with it. When you pull it away off comes the glue. Takes a little bit of time, but no VOC's! Just my couple cents.

MEK will take anything off.............includng your skin!!!! We used to be able to use it in Aviation but they stopped it's use about 8 or so years ago. Plus it gives you cancer (what doesn't these days!). Bad stuff (but does work real well!)

I like the masking tape trick. I would've never thought of that. Next time I have a decal removal task I'll give that a try.

Yeah, I used the masking tape to take the glue off of my airbox cover. Where the Buell lettering left lots of it. Better than putting stuff and rubbing it, possibly scratching it.
