Last year I purchased a db killer insert for my original drummer from Kevin @ KD Fab. I was never able to get it inserted into the exhaust. With some effort I can get it in a few mm but it gets stuck. If I try any harder to get it in, I may not be able to get it out without damaging the exhaust.

I have tried cleaning out the carbon from the inside of the exhaust pipe (to limited success) and putting the insert in the freezer before inserting (per Kevin's suggestion). I suspect the I may need to shave down the sides of the insert to make it properly fit.

I mostly need this in the pipe so I don't exceed track decibel limits. I managed to get away with it at one track, but another I would like to go to is much more strict and will proactively test before entering the track.

Does anyone have any suggestions, experience with this, or know what tools I need?

Sand it down a smidge?

If you can chuck the small part in a drill, it will help keep it concentric.

@Ted You have to contact Kevin and request to have one made. There isn't a page for it on the site.

Or measure the size you need (51mm?) and get one on e-bay. They're like $8.
