Author Message   701_xb12xt Posted on Thursday, March 05, 2015 - 05:19 pm:        i just bought my xb12xt last year and I'm fairly short. i have seen threads about x lowering but not the xt. what is there that i can do to lower it? I'm not sure what shock on what bike is shorter.   Froggy Posted on Thursday, March 05, 2015 - 07:10 pm:        Swapping the shock, forks, and kickstand from a 2006/7 XB12Ss Lightning Long will lower the bike safely. I used to run that suspension on one of my bikes, here is what it looked like: There are a bunch of seat options in the aftermarket, you won't give up comfort by going to a thinner seat if it is built right. The 1190RX for example looks like it has a roofing shingle for a seat, but is very comfortable. This will drop the front end ~7/8" in my case for $45, though my forks are already pushed up in the tubes about an inch. If your forks are flush with the trees, you have more room for lowering the front. As fir the rear, well I haven't gotten that far yet.
