One thing you should do is install the race ECM.

yea jason, im thinkin about getting the race ecm, maybe that will help...freyke, i honestly think resetting the tps will not cure this problem, as i try at least once or 2 times a week to ride under 3500 rpms for about 15 - 20 minutes out on the highways...thanks for your time yall: )

This happens to me a lot too when I blip the throttle on my 12. However, it also happened on my 9, so I would not really worry about it.

I get that when the outside air temp is cold AND the bike is cold. I also live at 5000' elevation. I have found (YMMV) that if I let the bike warm up for at least one minute EVERY time I ride it, it seems to be a little more friendly.

FWIW: I have never had a backfire through the airbox on my Firebolt, stock with the exception of the K&N Filter.

Now my Harley on the other hand...

Mine did this a bit... Sounded like gun shots... Check your inlet seals...

My xb12r did it stock and does it with a K&N and snorkle in place. It may be the fuel sloshing issue in my case.
