I guess finding a clutch cable is more than the mighty HD/Buell org. can accomplish.

This kind of performance is pathetic.

The VFR as my only bike is looking better and better.

I just looked to see if I had one and am ashamed to say I don't. We'll be fixing that.
What I don't understand is the 10 days?
The part is an active, available part.

Where are you from Bruce?
I can tell you if any dealers in your area have one for you.

Well, here is the update. I called to my local dealer, hey we didn't receive it yet. My question, has it been shipped yet?

Answer, don't know, have to ask my parts manager. Will ask him if it does not arrive in today's shipment.

Me, why not ask him now?

Him, well I don't really want to ask him until today's shipment is checked.

Me, ah carumba??????????//

If it wasn't under warranty, I would have called and had it shipped last week.

What a bunch of turds these guys are!

Thanks Dave.

I suppose taking one off a bike in the showroom never was an option?

Don't feel bad a certain dealer in the same area of California has had my rims for a Wheel Bearing change per the service Bulletin for the past month. First they received two sets of front bearings and had to reorder for the rear. Then they claim there is not puller for the rear and they are seeking guidance from Harley on how to get the bearing out or waiting for a tool to be sent out.

Basically this dealer stinks even for work on Harley's. They are looking for the quick buck by all the rubs in this area bringing their bikes in for all the scheduled service intervals and all the cool bits of chrome they pay to have put on by the dealer. I am a pretty laid back guy, but these a**holes are beginning to p*ss me off. Lucky I still have my good ole trusty Yamaha GTS1000 to get by with until I finish rebuilding the Electra Glide and these yahoo's get my rear wheel bearing changed out for my XB9S.

Am getting my bike today. Thanks to Dave for all the support. (Hey, does your dealership have a website, gotta buy something from you!)

BTW-the headshake that i have had for months was NOT THE BRAKE but the head itself. Adjustment I am told.

At least the cable was covered under warranty.

I will likely buy a spare to keep in MY INVENTORY>

Best thing to do is just call me. I don't have online buying yet.

ask for Dave in the sales dept.

Glad you got your bike back. Enjoy!

Bike is back, with new tires and clutch cable. Runs great, feels great to be back on the road.

This is like a drug!

BTW- Just checked and the HD tech put 15 lbs pressure in my new rear tire.

Hmmm, that was worth the money, no??

"BTW- Just checked and the HD tech put 15 lbs pressure in my new rear tire. "

Go down to your local discount store and buy an 89 cent tire pressure gauge.
Then go back to the dealership and ask to speak with the service manager.
When the service manager gets there ask him to retrieve the service tech.
When they both get to the counter hand the tech the pressure gauge and suggest he learn how to use it.
Then turn around and leave without saying another word.

I had another suggestion but this one is legal.

same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago and I stood there and told him to put 38 lbs in it! I checked and had 10.5 lbs.

What is more disturbing is that these guys mounted and balanced new tires for me. So, I a running on the Freeway at 75 MPH on tires that were balanced and mounted by a guy who neglects to get the F'nn TIRE PRESSURE correct!

Does that strike you as just a BIT SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were only trying to save you money. That official HD air is really expensive, and airing the tire up to 38 psi would've added about $23 to the bill. Also remember, air is a maintenance item and is not covered under warranty.

Even if it was, chances are it wouldn't be a dealer stock item! Ain't that right, Bruce.

Other than oil filters, I don't think my dealer stocks any Buell parts.

PS- I am going to order a spare clutch cable from Dave.

BruceLee...Smart move. I was really appalled when DaveS posted the parts locater didn't show a single clutch cable in all of California which is the largest motorcycle market in the country.

Makes me smile every time I walk past the inventory of replacement parts in my garage. I pick them up at super discounted prices on the clearance tables at the various dealer events.

Just a suggestion for future reference.
