i am looking to run a double head light. on my XB9 sx.
but what makes the difference in the high beam and the normal light.

Is there a difference in the reflector or is it the setting off the light bulb.

If it is the reflector can you swap one out off a other head light.

If you want both lights on at the same time, put the rocker switch in between low and bright.

I didn't know this was possible! Can you elaborate on how that is done? Would it be the same for an 05 xb12?

Yes i am looking to run both lights on, but i don't whant to run the high beam.

So i like to have both lights on a normal beam.

There is a simple mod to the plug so that both lights are on when switched to high-beam. I did it on my XB9S and run highs all the time to make me more visible.

Look in the Knowledge Base for the mod. It's as simple as swapping a wire from one hole to another in the harness plug. It only takes a paperclip or piece of wire to do it.

You'll need some sort of different headlamp housing.
The bulbs are the same, they're just aimed differently.
If you take a close look at the headlamp, you'll see one is pointed kind of down, the other straight ahead.
The simple mod is what I ended up doing.

Ditto on the mod. I ran my switch in the middle for months like Glitch, but a good bump in the road would flip it one way or the other...or me accidentally bumping it.

I did the mod in May 2009 and switched to Sliverstar bulbs for better lighting. Some have thought the heat would be a problem but I've not seen any issues at all for over 2 years.

Here's a couple of the better writeups on the mod, although they're not on BadWeb.

So that was a easy job done in it about 20min.

Now i am running two lights normal and when i switch to the high beam it is running one light.
And i aimed the unit a bit down.

But if i am correct the difference is in the reflector and how the bulb is aimed.
