Yep, I'm a dipstick. Lost the ONLY key. Looked for the key code on the helmet lock. No joy. Anybody know where the key code is stamped on a Uly?

There was a plastic card that came with your keys that tells you it. The only other way to get keys now would be to use your VIN and order a new set from the dealer, or find a really good locksmith.

Thanks Froggy. Bought it used, Got a bunch of paperwork but no key tags. I'll hump down to the local Harley dealer tomorrow and order a new set.

If you go to the dealer bring a title or registration, we require proof of ownership to order keys. BTW they will take about 10 days to get in.

Hey team, interesting update, which is both odd and funny. The manufacturers VIN key code for my 2006 Ulysses ingition/tail/helmet locks is wrong. I had a locksmith disassemble the lock, and sure enough, the keys cut to the VIN code # are dead wrong.....not even close, actually. Is that odd or what? Took me a solid week to sort it out. The smith said that incorrect key codes for motorcycles are commonplace. Go figure.

The good news . . as least in "the old days" was that there were very few combinations. Much like the 1967 Chevy . . if you had a couple sets of keys . . .you probably had the right one.

The reason my "Buell testing kit" has an entire collection of old barrel style keys.

When you get your new ~$29 key, go to your local locksmith and have a duplicate (or several) made for ~$5. There are at least a couple of threads here that will tell you which key blank he should use, which saves a lot of time.
