So I picked up a used Jardine GP-1 the other day. I was thinking about having it ceramic coated and get the preprogrammed Erik Buell Racing ECM. I will not be running a chin fairing. Should I go with this pipe or go another direction. I like loud, but also want it to look good without the chin

I've got an RT-1 with the Erik Buell Racing Racing ECM and . . well. . feels awesome. There's a lot of guys that knock the Jardine, but its easy to rebuild/repack, lightweight, and I love the sound.

I have an RT-1 with the QMI and a race mapped ECM. It runs great! I know the GP-1 has the longer outlet so idk if you can use (or need) the quite insert. My bike was setting off car alarms before I put it in.

Also look at this for getting a little more performace out of the Jardine

I actually decided to order a Drummer SS. So that means the Jardine will be for sale. Thanks for the info guys.

So if I understand this correctly, what is happening is they are making an adapter to allow the QMI insert to seal against the inlet pipe. I ma need to do this on the Jardine that I have sitting at home. Would be nice to drop the noise more but this might be decent enough.

The funny thing about that thread is that no one ever took a picture looking down into the inlet.

It is not a QMI, it is a reducer that increases back-pressure in the headers, which returns a lot of low end power and torque. The Jardine is a lot more free flowing than is good for the low RPM Buells. I just did this last night, I welded the reducer onto the end of the S-bend adapter that inserts into the front of the can. I should have taken a picture before I put the pipe back on :/

Best looking pipe on the market...especially if running no chin fairing, hands down.

Yep I have to agree, Kevin is a master craftsman, the SS drummer is pure artwork. I have owned 2 of them and would not trade them for anything.

OK, I think I understand now. Is there a 304 stainless reducing coupler that I might look for? I don't want to put iron in there because it will rust quickly in contact with the stainless inlet.

That is a very nice looking exhaust, I wish I had the money. The Jardine I have is only temporary until I can get a better exhaust.
