Well, finally got my data cable, and was going to reset the TPS today, and see what is up with the fan not kicking on until the bike is shut off even in over 100 degree weather. Went to turn the idle adjuster back in all the way, and it wasn't wanting to move. Turned it the other way, basically increasing the idle, and it turned freely, but wouldn't back down in. After some struggling with it, and turning it as hard as I could, the cable snapped. Anybody able to tell me how hard it is to replace, and how much a new cable would cost?

I took off my airbox and had to use needle nose vise grips on the stub of idle cable that was left after it broke. I was able to roughly reset the TPS and get it back running ok. I ordered a new cable but havent installed it yet. It was 14.25 plus a dollar for the spring.

Ordered up my cable, was also able to use some plyers to adjust the idle setting to get the TPS reset. Now just waiting on the trickle charger to give her enough juice to turn over =\.

theres a write up on ukbeg about freeing up the adjuster cable, but they are so cheap its best to replace it. the adjuster end is only zip tied to the frame behind the left side scoop.

i used some 1/2" breather hose to sleeve the cable as it rubs on the frame. it also makes it a lot easier to adjust idle speed
