so check this, i just reflashed my ECM with the race maps. it runs like a dawg poopin peach seeds. there was a hell of a difference between before and after. i'll have to tighten up my clutch now because the power blows through the grip of the clutch with my girl on the back. i reset the TPS and was having trouble getting it just perfect. as of right now, it's showing that the tps is sitting on 2.1% but it's idling at 975-1025. it's almost perfect. so i'm wondering how far off the computer will be under normal operation? it idles perfectly now and runs like a champ. i'm aware that the proper idle is 4.6-5.1 tps. will 2.1 throw it off too much to safely run it? thanks all

Did you hold light pressure on the throttle to ensure the butterfly is completely closed when clicking the TPS reset button?

How long of a ride did you take to determine it is running good?

If anything it will throw off the spark-advance curve more than the fuel curve. No good can come from running it this way.If you still have trouble getting the sensor to consistently zero during a reset try this....It is often over-looked and never mentioned in these forums but try cleaning the carbon build-up in the throttle-body bore where the throttle plate is.Nasty, gummy stuff builds up there when you bike is shut-off and hot-soaks.You can do it with the inner air-filter cover off and use a shop rag and throttle-body or carb cleaning spray.Clean it good while holding the throttle open(engine-off!!) then start it and run it to clean out any spray that got in the intake.Do your reset now and all should be well with improved off-idle throttle response,Brian

the ride was only about 15-20 miles, but it had stop and go in town and some long stretches out of town. she ran good up and down the hills as well. i held negative pressure on the throttle as i ran the idle adjust back out to zero and reset the TPS. then i'd wind it back up until i could idle it smoothly. i will have to get some carb cleaner this afternoon while i'm out. i should be able to close the butterfly completely after a good cleaning. you're right raptor, simple, but even something i didn't think of. i guess that's the reason i try to get input from other angles as well. thanks lots guys. once i get her cleaned up i'll reset it again and go from there.
