Hey all,
My racebike just died....I went to start it....it started to turn over, then stopped, and the neutral light went out. Now it won't even turn over. i checked all the fuses, all good. I went over some of the wiring, no obvious problem. The engine light go's out, fuel pump comes on. Everything normal, except no neutral light, and it won't try and start. It's a stock 08 12r motor.

Any ideas? Neutral sensor maybe?

Help?

Could be the sensor like you said. See if it will still start with the clutch pulled in. If so, then your bike thinks its not in neutral.

Neutral switch. Happened on a ride with the Jersey crew last year 12 bucks and 10 minutes and you're god to go

It won't start with the clutch pulled in.

Is there a way to test the neutral switch?

Unplug and ground the contacts. This is from memory as I don't have the manual in front of me

Thanks guys,
I did that test this morn, and it worked. I pulled the switch, pressed and rotated the ball a couple of times, stuck it back in and it started. I'll pick up a new switch when I get a chance.
I'm surprised that it won't start with the bad switch when you pull the clutch in, strange.

My guess is that the clutch switch is also broken or disconnected.
