I was wondering if anyone can tell me or direct me in finding a K & N filter for the XB9R? I know that Buell sales one that is blue and around $65.00. Was looking for something cheaper.

Thanks..

The blue filter is the stock filter and is not K&N. The stock filter should be alot cheaper than the K&N, however the latter would be the best descision.

I tried the K&N filter by itself using the stock 2003 XB9R Air Filter cover (under what you see as the "tank"; ) and that alone makes a noticable difference. In addition, the K&N filter lasts longer since you can go to Napa/Kragen/PepBoys/Autozone and get a K&N recharge kit to wash out the filter and re-spray the red oil on it.

I have had the same filter in my '68 El Camino for over 8 years now and it is still in great shape...I highly recommend it for any motor vehicle. Considering I paid $60 dollars for the filter and about $20 dollars for two recharge kits (multi use for each) so far, it is much better than buying a good air filter for 12.95 even once a year for 8 years plus the air flow is much higher.

RD, I"m not sure of the color but the K&N filter is only sold by Buell... I believe they have some agreement between Buell and K&N to only sell the filters at the HD/Buell dealers... I believe you can get a discount if you buy from one of the BadWeb sponsers...

As Matt said. It's a great investment. Buy one for every engine you own.
