Any 9SL owners have an owners manual?

I have a 2003 XB9S that I just put the suspension from a 2004 9SL onto. Can you tell me if the recommended suspension settings look any different from the ones below?

Thanks in advance!
-Andy

Everything suspension wise carried over to the XB12SCG, so use the manuals linked at the top of the Xboard.

Thanks Froggy.

Those are VERY different settings up top...are we sure that's it's the same forks and spring as the old ones? Perhaps there are differences between the normal and low for settings...or maybe they just learned better setting since 2003/2004??

Scratch that, not VERY different. : p I looked at it all wrong.

Thanks for pointing me to the manuals, I would still be interested in seeing what they put out in 2003/2004 in the owners manuals if someone has a copy...more for curiosity sake than anything!

Yea I don't got any old 03/04 owner manuals yet, I usually grab the books off ebay if they are up dirt cheap.

sorry my scanner is broken but mine is identical to yours.

my manual does not specify SL so I have no idea if I just have the wrong manual or if there wasn't one specific to the SL in 03

interesting! Thanks for taking the time to look!

I have never seen an SL owners manual, and my dealer told me that there is no shop manual specific for it....makes me wonder if anything was ever published for them...

the 05 cg settings look right to me.

I would start there.

I played with mine for WEEKS to get a good set up starting with the regular s setup that was way too soft. after all that work I am darn close to the recommended set up for the 05cg

This is from the 2004 manual

Table 1-10. Recommended Suspension Settings For Rider Weight (XB9SL)

Less than
Lbs KG
150 68 6.0 1.75 1.75 1 3.0 1.5

150-170 68-77 5.5 1.75 1.5 2 2.5 1.25

170-190 77-86 5.0 1.5 1.5 3 2.25 1.25

190-210 86-95 4.5 1.5 1.25 4 2.0 1.0

210-230 95-104 4.0 1.25 1.25 5 1.75 1.0

230-250 104-113 3.5 1.25 1.0 6 1.5 0.75

250-GVWR 113-GVWR 3.0 1.0 1.0 7 1.25 0.75

* Note all compression and rebound settings are number of turns out from maximum.

The format is crappy. I am sure you understand what the values are.

Awesome, thanks Robert. Yes, I understood what the values are : )

They are almost identical to the SCG, other than for preload.

Thanks again!
