I see a few of you guys have done them. Does it make a huge difference? My recall upgrade has been done. Now I need more light, as every morning, I go to work is in the dark.

It makes a difference. You'll be able to see further down the road. One HID will emit more light than both stock bulbs running at once.

I went the cheap route. I bought a second high beam housing to replace the low beam. I install two hyper white bulbs and kept the high beam switch on. It was much brighter and only a couple times did someone flash their highbeams at me.

I just bought a set from DDM tuning and have yet to install them. I'm a bit intimidated by electrical, but I'm going to try and get to it in the near future.

I'll post a verbal comparison, since my low beam is burned out which makes it hard to take pictures to compare.

Anyone got bulb #s? Is there a lot of heat to worry about?

OK, I had a dumb moment. Did a search, and I'm not worried about heat. How bout a replacement bulb that works better?

Less heat with HID.

Better for all to have in both high and low beam as looking at this type of light head on is like looking at an arc welding flash.

The driver/rider coming towards you may be blinded(temporarily) by the light and run into you.

I went to HID, out on the highway at night on low beam I can see signs glowing a mile or so away. On high beam Its like driving in the day almost.

The only bad thing about it is after I ride a lot then take my truck somewhere at night I feel like I can't see anything!

Gunut75....IIRC the stock headlights are already projectors, believe they are plug in play. Pair of digital slim ballast HID's, one bulb/ballast for each light.

Go with 4500k and 55w for most light output.

I got the pair of 55w kit, so 2 ballasts, 2 bulbs, etc. I will be running one in one light and other in the high, probably leave them on all the time. The Firebolt uses the H3 bulb size for both lights. It was $55+$17 shipping to Maryland.
