I'm just wondering if my blue pipes are normal, and the popping on decel is healthy bike stuff.
I'm on a '09 XB12scg with a Drummer and the EBR ECM.
Thinking back, the stock exhaust and ECM popped also...but not quite as noticeably

Totally normal. The pipes on both my '03 9S and '04 12S are blue, although the 12's are a deeper blue. Both pop on decel also, the 9 more then the 12. Also note that both are race kitted now but did it with the stock pipes and ecm also.

Completely normal. What you do want to look for is the same amount of blue-ing on each pipe. If one is not the same then that cylinder is not running right.

My bike popped on decel with the stock pipe, and still does with aftermarket. Does the popping hurt anything?

Popping is harmless. I actually think it sounds cool. When I was younger I had a '62 Impala with a 235cid blue flame six and split exhaust manifold, that baby would pop and spit on decel like crazy.

From what I've heard the popping means the bike is running a bit hot. You can tune it a little bit richer and it should get rid of it. Mine's done it for a while. Hasn't caused any harm.

I just keep checking my plugs at oil changes.

Mine were blueish going on gold when I received it, now they are getting down right dark gold. Going to wrap them eventually anyway.
