Like it so far, but am not sure it is that much greater improvement than the M2. I haven't had it out on a nasty twisty road yet tho.' Actually really impressed with the M2!

Going to need some lowering peg kits...And this thing is HOT! How to cool?

Thanks,

cb

I did that switch back in '05. The only thing I didn't like were the higher pegs, but I got used to them fairly quickly. Loved the bike, it was a helluva lot more reliable than the M2, faster and turned in quicker. Also, I dragged the M2 pegs all the time... never once touched ANYTHING down on the XB12Ss.

I'd probably still have the XB12Ss except I fell in lust with the 1125R once it came out in RED.

I switched from M2 to XB12S a year ago. I noticed a huge difference in terms of handling/stability.... but I also pushed the M2 to the extreme.

The heat will die down as the engine breaks in.

Thanks for the tips.
I'll probably miss that M2 until I get a chance to bond with the new bike, which I think for me will be an inch lower or more in the pegs. The M2 is at the dealer for consignment sale. I've done over 70k on a pair of M2's. Really love 'em but time for something new and you can't do any dirt on them. Not easy to replace the belt and the tank is held on by a plastic tab up forward.

My M2's were very reliable and uncomplicated. I enjoyed doing the mechanical work on them, head gaskets, cams, whatever needed doing. I understand on the xb mechanical problems are practically nil but electronix may be an issue.

So far I like it. Dealer was not so great on the discounts but out here in CA they are selling like hot cakes!

I'd agree. 20k on my 08 and no trouble with the engine except rocker box leaks. As for electronics, my wiring harness has been repaired 4 times now. I think thats a rare case though, haven't heard of others with that problem.
