Posted in the knowledge vault but figured most people do not look there routinely. Tried to download some pictures but they did not come up on the final post...too large...will work on that.

Thatman,

I got one of the cables to use ECMspy but unfortunately my PC I had it on crashed and now I cannot find one to download. I too may be looking to direct link. Would like to hear how that works for you.

Tried the Jardine insert and it was a bit louder than stock but I do not think anyone would be disappointed with the noise. It was definitely quieter. Unfortunately the stock bolt is very short and the walls of the drummer tip are very thick. Had to forget the lock washer and just screw in as many threads as I could get. Sound and look was great. I was thinking as I was going down 1604 that I should probably pull over and change it before it...then it sounded like one of my ear plugs pulled loose. Pulled the bike over and I had no more Jardine insert.

Then tried the baffle from Petebueller, the one no longer in production, and tried it with the mild plate (the most baffled of the three settings). The drummer sounded different than stock, but no louder. At idle with my ear plugs in I could not even hear it. Have not tried the wild plate or no plate yet.

That Swain Tech is amazing. Brought the bike to the HD shop to show them what I had been working on. Stopped the bike and felt the headers immediately and they were hotter than I had remembered from yesterday...too hot to touch. We were back at the bike in under 5 and you could wrap your whole hand around the headers. not only that but of the 7 rides I have had on the bike, the fan did not even come on after the 4 short ones...longest was 10 miles. That will happen when it is in the 40's but not when it is in the mid 80's. The surface looks very similar to the sprocket cover with the barbecue black paint. Still performed well for my needs. Pick up and power curve were still smooth.

Took more pictures but the file size is still too big : ( Will try again later, then mess with video/sound.

Paint.net works wonders with picture resizing and it's free.

As soon as i get my direct link up and running i will give the rundown...

Not a problem on my PC that I had, but the Mac is not intuitive for resizing. Web searches have not been helpful either. Seems many people are having the same issue with Iphoto. Found a way to resize by exporting to my documents but still get the error message to shrink the image. Will have to try and shoot some more photos tomorrow evening using a smaller file size on the camera.

Oh man, it's VERY easy on your mac!

If it has a max dimension of 1000 pixels, simply open it, save as, and drag the little slider to the left until the size is under 70 kb.

If it's larger than that, I find the easiest thing to do is open the pic in iPhoto, highlight it, click file->export, in the file export tab select jpg, medium quality, custom size with max dimension of 1000 pixels and you're done.

It seems like a bunch of steps, but it's super easy and fast....and it's built into your computer without additional programs of having to rely on a web-based service.

Andymnelson, thanks big time. I tried that route but never specified JPEG but rather left it as "current" so I never got to the fields you mentioned. Attached are before and after pictures of the coated headers as well as some shots of the silver Jardine insert and the double bolted baffle from Petebueller that comes with two different restrictive plates.

Not all the pictures made it. Trying again.

Have an IR thermometer and a decibel reader. Will get more info tomorrow. Unfortunately I have no baseline data nor will I have information on the Jardine insert unless someone in the San Antonio area has one and wants to run a test on it.
