I will be buying a XB12ss this coming week end. I'm wondering if changing the oil
is complicated because of the exhaust pipe
running under the motor?

Not complicated at all. I just make a little funnel type gimmick out of foil.

No.
5/8" wrench, a T-27 and a pair of channel lock pliers to remove the filter is all you will need.
