If I replace the fan without fixing the leaky rocker gasket, how long should I expect the fan to last?

Could I put something back there to cut down on the oil that gets to the fan?

The oil will keep leaking onto the fan will eventually kill it. Hard to say how long that will take, as it depends on the leak and a dozen other factors.
